McCain Blasts Obama

Using alot of sarcasm, Sen. McCain took Barack Obama to the proverbial woodshed Monday. Here’s the money section from McCain’s letter to Mr. Obama:

McCain ‘apologized’ to Obama for “assuming that your private assurances to me regarding your desire to cooperate in our efforts to negotiate bipartisan lobbying reform legislation were sincere.”
McCain adds, “I’m embarrassed to admit that after all these years in politics I failed to interpret your previous assurances as typical rhetorical gloss…Again, sorry for the confusion, but please be assured I won’t make the same mistake again.”

Sen. McCain sent the letter after Obama pulled out of bipartisan talks on lobbying reform. Suffice it to say that people noticed that Obama got slapped hard for his playing politics with this issue.

A chastened Obama wrote back, saying:

“The fact that you have now questioned my sincerity…is regrettable but does not in any way diminish my deep respect for you nor my willingness to find a bipartisan solution to this problem.”

Sen. Obama, it sounds to me like you’re the one who’s sincerity is in question. As for your saying that your willingness to “find a bipartisan solution to” the Abramoff scandal hasn’t diminished is belied by your actions, which speak louder than words, except with Democrats.

When McCain is the one who has no class, why do you question Obama’s sincerity?
