9/11 Panel Gives White House Mixed Review

“The administration was given a mixed review in a report on the commission’s key recommendations that were designed to help the United States better prepare for and respond to a terror attack,” writes he AP’s Barry Schweid re: the 9/11 Commission. The most partisan statement in the article, though, was attributed to hyperpartisan Richard Ben-Veniste. It reads:

At Monday’s presentation, commission member Richard Ben-Veniste said Iraq is on track to succeed Afghanistan as a terrorist training ground.

That’s one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve ever heard. I’d ask for proof to verify his claim but that isn’t necessary because it’s obviously absurd. Only a hyper-partisan hack like Ben-Veniste could believe such a comment. I even find that hard to believe.

On another front, the former commission members found insufficient progress on thwarting attempts by the al-Qaida network to acquire or make weapons of mass destruction.

Who made these idiots the clearinghouse on intelligence and counterterrorism matters? They aren’t the least bit credible on these issues. Remember that these are the hacks that ignored multiple briefings from the Able Danger crew and wrote them off as being insignificant or not credible. Give me a break.

I won’t accord these clowns that level of credibility.
