The original objective was simply to remove Saddam. Then, Bush posited that everything would magically come together. As if that was all you needed to do. Remove the dictator, win the war.

Ain’t that easy. The scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz coulda toldja that.

The original objective was woefully shortsighted - almost to the point of being criminal. If you ain’t going to do the job right, you shouldn’t do it at all. And Bush Co. never had any intention of doing that job right.

To put this loss on the heads of newly elected Democrats is fucking rediculous. Insane even.

Finally, some common sense coming from the right! Krauthammer points out a couple of facts but misses the major reason that we’ve failed in Iraq: a lack of understanding of what drives the Muslim world. Saddam understood what it took to rule a Middle Eastern country, and it takes tyranny, torture, and ruthless weilding of power. At least we got the torture part right while handing the tyranny and power to Iran via Moqtada al-Sadr. And all it took was the Democrats seizing Congress for the right to see the light.

I have supported the Mission and the Troops from the beginning, adn I still do.
That being said, Bush erred in making “The Iraqis” the center of attention.
“Operation Iraqi Freedom” my but.
Now they are free, and what are they doing with it?
It should have been, “Operation WMD - seek and destroy.” Rather than grant Saddam’s goons amnesty, we should have wiped them out from the beginning.
A pullout now will leave a VACUUM, and into that will pour the grimiest sludge of the Middle East.
Mistake or not, I fear the only answer is to send over another 100,000, kick but, gather up all the Kalashnikovs, give them back to Russia and say, “Look, your house is clean, NOW we are going home.”
But does America have the guts for this kind of move?
McCain would if he were Pres!!!

What?

If US Armed Forces cannot kill or capture terrorists on the order of the newly created government in Iraq, then you know what, peace out, motherf****ers, we’re going home.

No more of that BS. If they want our help, they need to get out of the way and let us do our jobs. Otherwise, we shouldn’t spend one more second out there.

To hell with that insanity.
