This is What a Religion of Peace Looks Like

The difference between radical Islam and radical Christianity is love, humility and forgiveness. This dichotomy was epitomized in the events of the last week when the Pope made a rather insightful reference to the false prophet Mohammed, quoting 14th century emperor Manuel II Paleologus, who criticized Mohammed’s “command to spread by the sword the faith he preached”. Muslims hyper-sensitive to criticism of their prophet don’t mind, on the other hand, threatening the world’s premier Christian leader with death. In fact, it goes further than that. Whether one believes the Pope was right or wrong in his statement, certainly killing innocent religious workers who devote their lives to serving the poor or infirmed goes beyond the scope of what one would consider “good religion”.

That said, rioting Muslims vow to “conquer Rome” and kill Christians in revenge for the Pope/emperor’s remarks. “Honor” is a staple of the Islamofascist diet, and evidently killing an innocent Catholic nun in Somalia who dedicated her life to helping the sick is par for the course for extremists who condone “honor killings”.

How did this poor nun, Sister Leonella Sgorbati, who was gunned down by Islamofascists outside of the hospital where she worked, leave this world? FORGIVING HER KILLERS. Her fellow sisters said that as she realized she was dying, Sister Sgorbati said, “I forgive; I forgive.” Surely this woman is a saint. This is a vivid picture of the differences between the faiths.

If it is true that pure, peaceful Islam is being hijacked by extreme Islamofascism, Christians everywhere patiently await the setting straight of that misunderstanding, and the emergence of a truly peaceful Islamic religion that will coexist with the rest of the world.

  1. Interesting…

Watch this story. Of course there will be some protests. Maybe even enough to get the scene removed. But compare Christian reaction to this story to Muslim reaction to any slight….

  1. Hello Amy and all,

There is no truth without discernment and taking this situation out of context will never solve this world’s problems. The straw that breaks the camel’s back always follows the results of earlier deeds.

The Pope’s choice of words was brain dead, in my humble opinion, if he was seeking to spread peace. He could have appealed for cooler heads and humility from all sides using any other words, but instead he chose to quote Crusade era hypocrisy that was guaranteed to inflame Muslims. Now we see the backtracking and spinning that always follows the gaffes of those afraid of simply telling the truth.

More proof that religion is the opposite of truth, wisdom, and justice

The “infallible” Grand Inquisitor (the pot) sought to lecture Islam (the kettle) about spreading religion through dark deeds by quoting a Dark Ages text while the USA and Europe are in the midst of the Neo-Crusades. The irony and absurdity in this situation is amazing, to say the least. It evidences both the fallacy and fallibility of those who vainly and arrogantly pretend to serve the Creator.

Dear Pope, ever heard of Karma or the golden rule? Ever stop to remember how the Vatican and western nations became so rich and powerful over the centuries? Ever consider giving up your blood drenched wealth and earthly power to end the blatant hypocrisy of your vane, materialistic, and duplicitous empire? Ever think of forgoing your peacock’s robes to walk the walk instead of simply talking the talk? Remember the “eye of the needle” and “log and mote in the eye” parables? Is this a demonstration of your infallibility, wisdom, or utter blindness? As another wise one once said; What goes around comes around!

The West has killed far more Muslims (and other dark skins) than they have killed westerners, yet our press and leaders can only see Muslim and “third world” desperation in the face of western military and economic dominance and oppression, (in the name of God and country, by the way), as sources of evil in this world.

Guess what guys and girls, war, violence, and injustice are evil, no matter what the excuse or cause or who is doing it to whom. Anyone who thinks the Creator would judge religion, war, or any other profiteering at the expense of others as wise or acceptable activities has a very big surprise in store.

    Here is Wisdom!!
    …and here too…

  2. A story just came out on Drudge about Madonna being crucified for an NBC sweeps special. Watch the difference in reaction between Christians and Muslims when it comes to disrespect to their faith. I feel confident in asserting not one NBC executive will be gunned down or have their home burned.

  3. Good point, Josh.

Sevenstarhand, there was nothing “brain dead” about the Pope’s comments. If you follow any of his writings, you’d know he’s brilliant. He said what needed to be said. The world for too long has cowered at the sight of Islamofascism and continues to appease, appease, appease. The Pope’s quite scholarly speech (I recommend you read the entire speech in it’s context) sharpened the blurry ideological lines of the battle we face today against such an enemy. The line has been drawn in the sand: “Religion of peace, you say? Prove it.” And of course the Muslim extremists failed the test.

  4. The pope made me feel a moment of overflowing pride in our Western civilization. I wish he didn’t apoloize or explain himself. Whether the work he quoted was written by a mideval crusader is irrelevant. These words ring true, and the actions of Islamo-Fascists prove their point. What his response should have been is “Yes! You mad fanatics! Murderers! Violent beasts! After 700 years you still have not changed!”

    Comment by R V — September 19, 2006 @ 7:58 pm

  5. I just love that statement I saw somewhere on the net. The whole Muslim being-offended thing is summed nicely by the phrase “Stop calling us violent or we’ll kill you”.
I’ll make my judgements about the Prophet based on how I see his followers represent him.
