Saddam’s Missing WMD’s

It seems that Sadddam did have WMD’s after all. Lores Rizkala of Just A Woman blog said that Gen. Georges Sada told people watching Hannity and Colmes that Iraq did, in fact, have chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction up until the summer of 2002…The former general states as a matter of fact that the weapons were flown and driven to Syria.

For those wondering, Sada was “the air vice marshall in Saddam Hussein’s army,” according to Lores’ article. That means he was in position to know what happened in the buildup prior to the Coalition invasion.

At this point, I consider this news credible but I’m also interested in seeing what the captured documents that Steve Hayes has been reporting on have to say on the flying out of the chem-bio weapons. If there’s documentation on this ‘export’ and the general in charge of the Iraqi air marshall saying that he setup the flights that sent those weapons to Syria, then I’d consider it another undeniable truth of Saddam’s regime.

I’ll keep you posted on any new developments as they’re made available.

While I’m keeping an open mind about the whole WMD thing, I might point out that a paper trail is just that….a paper trail.
It’s circumstantial evidence at best and, at worst, forgeries or a deception. I’m still curious though if he had WMD’s, why didn’t he use them. He showed no compunction about tossing SCUD’s around and gassing the Kurds. So why not use them against an overwhelming invading Army? Did he think he was ever going to get a better chance to use them? There’s an interview waiting to happen….

There is a very good reason why he didn’t use them. Look at how the whole world has reacted to the U.S. when they weren’t found. Its international politics at its best. If the U.S. could’ve be charged with an illegal invasion, we’d have been crippled in the international community politically, and he may have had a chance to be put back in power.
And if he did use them, he still would have been brought down, but by a larger multinational force.
I think they were there. We just haven’t filtered through all the information available yet. But then again I may be wrong as well.

I kind of doubt that Saddam cares what the rest of the world thinks. I don’t see the point of having them if you lack the will to use them in the first place. When it was clear he was going down, I’m surprised he didn’t use them if he had them. My guess is that, if he did have them, his megalomania would never allow him to believe his regime was in imminent danger even as the tanks were rolling through the streets.

If you don’t already know, “Where did the WMDs go?”, is something I’m obsessed with. I haven’t been able to, and don’t think I ever will accept the “bad intel, they were never there” line. It just doesn’t make sense…

WMD’s in Syria? So says two Generals from two different countries, Iraq and Israel…can they both be wrong?

President Bush dithered prior to going to war with Iraq, wasting tremendous amounts of time with diplomacy. While he was wasting this time, Saddam was busy making plans for the defense of Iraq and the return of his regime. He also made plans for ……
