Pelosi Says Iraq Is Not “A War To Win”

Nancy Pelosi was interviewed on Fox Report tonight and asked what her plan for victory in Iraq would look like. After a few seconds of stammering, the obvious awkward moment ended. Here’s Nancy Pelosi on defining Iraq:

“The point is this isn’t a war to win, it’s a situation to solve. And you define ‘winning’ any way you want, but you must solve this problem.”

“This isn’t a war to win”? This is the next SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES? We’re doomed.

Discover the Network put it this way:

“Bipartisanship” has been a keyword in many of Pelosi’s speeches. In an address she delivered in 2002, for instance, she remarked, “We must stand together in a bipartisan way to fight the war against terrorism.” Though she supported the Clinton Administration’s military actions in Haiti, Kosovo, and Bosnia, she has denounced both the 1991 and 2003 wars in Iraq. Pelosi has also opposed President George W. Bush on most issues of Homeland Security, and has most recently joined the ACLU’s crusade to limit the powers of the Patriot Act.

Hypocrisy anyone?

“We’re doomed” Who is the defeatist now C.C.? Stop being a bunch of pussies and encourage Conservatives to take a good look in the mirror instead of whining about Pelosi becoming Speaker of House. The Dems won. We Republicans lost. Get over it and move on.

  3. Amy Proctor Says:

Yes, and you lost in 2000, 2002, 2004…

Your comments are totally indicative of a clueless armchair quarterback.

  4. Benn Says:

First of all I am a Republican, Amy. We ALL lost in 2000, 2002, 2004….
You yourself said that Al-Maliki is an “excellent” choice to help run the government in Iraq. I believe you are the one that is periodically cluless, Amy. I played football in college (I was not a QB but a DB) I don’t remember there being an armchair. I also served in the military as did my father and grandfather. No armcahir QBs in my family. You write a blog and have babies, Amy. You are an “activist” wife and a mother, That’s it. That is your “Occupation” You are the definition of an armchair QB, Amy.

Democrats take control of the Senate…

The question is how much damage done by the Democrats between now and then could be overcome when there’s an ongoing world war with radical Islam going on that the Democrats don’t even recognize….

  7. Amy Proctor Says:

Benn, this is the last time I will address you, period.

No Republican would say we lost in 2000, 2002 or 2004. Your comment is absurd.

I spoke with an Iraqi friend a few days ago who told me that Al-Maliki is a “very good man” but there are some people in his elected cabinet who support Iran, and IRAN’s interference is the problem. Al-Maliki is doing his best in a very complex situation and while it doesn’t look to us Americans sitting in our living room watching CNN like he’s doing a good job, if you don’t have a comphrensive understanding of the sects and history of Iraq, coupled with the root of the problem (an violent movement supported and financed by Iran), along with some other issues, you simply will not get it.

When Donald Rumsfeld said yesterday this is a very misunderstood and complex war, he wasn’t kidding. Most Americans simply do not understand the depth and intricacy of this mission in Iraq. It is not a failure nor will it be UNLESS we pull out before Iraq is stabilized.

If America’s troubled past with Civil Wars, unpopular president’s, assassinations, slavery, violence and over 11 years to produce a Constitution, were judged as ruthlessly as Iraq is being judged, we would not have made it. These Iraqis are worth the trouble, as is that part of the Middle East. If the soldiers who are willing to do the work, not armchair quarterback, continue to reenlist and volunteer to go back to Iraq, don’t you think they do so for a REASON?

    Sorry Troops………

….break out the Astroglide. The head of the House is Ms. Cut ‘n Run. Head of the Senate is Mr. Cut ‘n Run. Come to think of it, every new seat change on every comittee from here to Eastabooga is…

  9. Spinoneone Says:

The Religion of Peace does not have a word for “democracy,” nor does Arabic. They “borrow” the word from French. We have to decide how to best help the Iraqi’s make the best deal for themselves they can. I emphasize “for themselves” because they have to live with it. My guess is some sort of Swiss canton system will eventually emerge. Local autonomy with federal control of defense, foreign affairs, and a final say in the distribution of the oil wealth. Anything else lets the Iranians run things at the end of the day.

  10. Michael Ejercito Says:

I wonder how Nancy Pelosi explains her support for the invasion of Haiti.

  11. Amy Proctor Says:

Michael, Simple! Pelosi supported both Bosnia and Haiti (REGIME CHANGE) because it was Bill Clinton’s brain child. Republicans supported them, too. Democrats are incapable of giving support or credit to any Republican initiative or endeavor. It’s like a sickness.
