Getting Hamas to change its stripes won’t happen. The fight over Israel has been going on since just after Moses died, which I think was about 2000 BC.

there was a time when the Provesional IRA said the same thing. And people said the same thing about them that you said about hamas. Now they use political means.

But if you think Hamas having Nukes is prefarable to persuading them to talk then I guess we will never agree

This is a group that’s been around since 1987. That’s 19 years. Your whole claim that Hamas is some misunderstood violent child that simply needs nutruring and posturing and time to mature before it’s swallowed up by big bad Iran is simply paper thin.

Well it was obviously going to happen. they have to be funded some how. It was either going to come from the west or the east. Iran is consolidating its power. And any chance of Hamas moving towards peaceful politics is slowly fading.

But it still is not. They can be still brought round. 12 years ago if someone told me the IRA would have stopped fighting and engaged in politics. I would have not believed them. But now look. Even though they still don’t recognise the state of Northern Ireland. They are willing to negociate. Hamas need to be encoraged to come in from the cold not pushed into Irans clutchs.
