Chavez and Ahmadinejad Pledge To Work Against US

Perhaps Hugo will call on his Hollywood pals to provide propaganda film production and scriptwriting. Why not? They’ve got the experience.

But seriously, it’s a headline like this that just warms the heart, yet doesn’t surprise any of us.

AP reports: “The presidents of Venezuela and Iran boasted Monday that they will defeat U.S. imperialism together, saying the fall of the dollar is a prelude to the end of Washington’s global dominance.”

Glory be to Allah, may they crush the evil U.S. empire and replace it with terrorism, oppression of women, anti-semitism, fanaticism, censorship and socialist dogma. A better world can they offer for all, no doubt.

The alliance between Chavez and Ahmadinejad has blossomed with several exchanged visits — Monday’s was Chavez’s fourth time in Tehran in two years — a string of technical agreements and a torrent of rhetoric presenting their two countries as an example of how smaller nations can stand up to the superpower.

“Here are two brother countries, united like a single fist,” Chavez said upon his arrival in Tehran, according to Venezuela’s state-run Bolivarian News Agency.

A fist? That sounds pretty hostile. Not really sending the message of peace and diplomacy. But Bush better not say “bring it on” or something like that, lest the limp-wristed liberals at the NYT or similar get upset and write something derogatory about him and America.

“God willing, with the fall of the dollar, the deviant U.S. imperialism will fall as soon as possible, too,” Chavez said after a two-hour closed meeting with Ahmadinejad, the Iranian state news agency IRNA reported.

God? Whose god? Perhaps he and his buddy Mahmoud worked it out. Just as long as America is deemed deviant, they can pray together.

“The U.S. empire is coming down,” Chavez told Venezuelan TV, calling the European Union’s euro a better option and saying Latin American nations were also considering a common currency.
. . .

Ahmadinejad backed his “dear brother” Chavez in their joint fight with the Bush administration.

“We have common viewpoints and we will stand by each other until we capture the high peaks. God is with us and victory is awaiting us,” Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by IRNA. He said he and Chavez would stick together to defend their “nations and ideals to the end.”

Common viewpoints? That’s the scariest part of it. And sticking together to defend their ideals? Is this kinda like when the Bloods and the Crips work together to fight against law enforcement?

  1. If the stakes were not so high, this whole Iran/Venezuela thing would be amusing. Hugo wants to destroy the United States and show the world how powerful a tinhorn nothing can be.

Ahmedinijad, on the other hand, wants to destroy the United States as part of the drive to create the grand caliphate. Quite a difference in the reasons to destroy our country.

And Hugo, lovable puff-ball that he is, is stupid enough to believe he and Mahmoud share the same goal. He’s being played like a violin by a virtuoso. That’s too bad for “his” people, too, because “his” country has the natural resources to step into the modern world, where the rampant poverty there could be eliminated and “his” peoples’ standard of living could become the envy of the continent.

    How sad.
