Google Co-Founders Cash In

CNET reports:

Last month, the 32-year-old celebrity co-founders of Google each sold more than $160 million worth of their company’s stock.

That may sound like the ultimate jackpot to most people, but to Sergey Brin and Larry Page it was just another month in their billionaire-in-a-year lives.

Since the search giant went public in August 2004, Brin has sold about 6.5 million shares at a market value of $1.68 billion. Page has sold about 5.8 million shares at a market value of $1.4 billion, according to calculations from Thomson Financial.”

Incredible. Amazing. Only in America. God bless our freedom and our system of capitalism. Another example of why we are the envy of the world.

As it relates, we always wonder why some people believe Republicans are the party of the wealthy. These guys are both hard-Gore Democrats. In fact, Big Al’s part of the team.

Who knows. If we had that kind of coin, maybe we would be liberal, too. Worries of the working class no longer apply. And giving away millions to charity just makes sense — at least that’s what CPAs tell us.

The idea that Google is worth more than GE is absurd. As a capatalist, and business owner I can only dream of this kind of success.

    But it is still absurd.

[...] The young founders, Russian-born Sergey Brin and Larry Page, are multi-billionaires thanks to America, land of the free and home of the brave. You’d think they’d start every day with a Pledge of Allegiance. Our democracy and capitalist system afforded them the opportunity to realize their entrepreneurial dreams, and yet they refuse to simply acknowledge a day of respect for those who fought for and continue to preserve of way of life? Evidently, they have no search engine for shame. [...]
