Just another “average guy” angry at the world, who decided to run down random pedestrians with his SUV? Or is there something else to this story?

S.F. Chronicle reports: “As many as 14 people were injured this afternoon by a motorist who drove around San Francisco running them down before he was arrested, authorities said.”

Seven of those injured were in critical condition, police and firefighters said.

Authorities have identified the man who was arrested as Ohmeed Aziz Popal, who has an address in Ceres.

Authorities said they believe Popal was the same driver who ran over a 55-year-old man walking in a bicycle lane in Fremont, at Fremont Boulevard near Ferry Lane, just after noon. That victim died.

In San Francisco, the attacks began around 1 p.m., but it was unclear in what order:

• Two people, one of them a child, were critically injured around by a sport-utility vehicle on the 3500 block of California Street in the Richmond District.

“He was a very respectful, quiet, nice guy,” said Hamid Nekrawesh, 43, a first cousin in Fremont. “I’ve never seen him do anything violent.”

First time for everything.

Perhaps Ohmeed Aziz was “inspired” by the recent anti-Israel rally in San Francisco. (See photos) Those people are probably not shedding any tears.

“Can you imagine, if someone had (God forbid!) driven a car into 14 gay people, how quickly the press would have managed to cover the story?

Can you imagine that Mayor Newsom would call it “road rage” and suggest that there really probably wasn’t a “hate crime” attached to the action?

What the hell is wrong with the press, what the hell is wrong with the leadership? Why are they so incapable of calling anti-semitism what it is, of calling a terrorist action what it is?”

Maybe you should ask the Board of Supervisors.

The SUV struck two people in front of the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco on California Street, a few blocks from where the rampage ended.

Blood covered the sidewalk in front of the center’s gift store entrance, and 50 feet farther down the sidewalk lay a mangled bicycle.

Coincidence? Allah(Pundit) knows.

2. Apparently Muslim men who have been to Afghanistan have a habit of running their cars into large groups of people. March 3 Muslim man runs into 9 people - he was crazy. 4. Don’t you just love it …

   Witnesses claim that the man said he was a “terrorist”. But the police say there is no evidence that this was a terrorist act -LOL. KRON4 keeps calling all the run overs “accidents”.

   This is exactly the excuses given in the March 3rd Muslim driver terror attack, and the terror attack in Seattle at the Jewish center where the old Jewish ladies were killed. Meanwhile the Bush adminstration keeps saying there have been no terror attacks since 9/11.

   I wonder how long this Sudden Jihad Syndrome is going to continue before a pattern is recognized by our brainless leadership.

5. How can anyone imagine this was a terrorist attack? The real terrorists, 85 year old grannies, are constantly monitored at the airports and that makes our nation safe.

   This poor schmuck (oops, sorry to use such a word for a Muslim) was only practicing his driving skills, and it’s obvious he believes his half of the road includes those areas where one may be walking.

   Yes?

   The derisive term used above can also be applied to the police, politicians and media who ignore the elephant in the room.

   God help us. It’s for sure those who used to (police, politicians and media) ain’t gonna.

6. Hmmm. Call me crazy but maybe the guy was just nuts for some reason and doesn’t need to be tried in the court of public opinion as ‘a terrorist’. What about all those 80 year olds who plow into crowds. Are they terrorists as well? Lighten up on the brown skin man paranoia, people.

   Quite frankly, we like a nice deep tan; it’s not just for rich celebrities.

   Nice rhetorical trick, though. Any time someone questions a liberal or special interest, it’s either a “paranoia” or “phobia.”

   When you can point out an 80-year old, white terrorist…then we’ll listen.

8. Whether he was nuts or not has little or nothing to do with this conversation. The yoyo picked his areas of attack, and chose his victims. Hardly seems like classic “mental defect” to me.

   And as far as “brown skinned” goes, I would sooner attack his “religion of peace” than his ethnicity, skin color or how many ears he has. That “religion of peace” has caused more death, destruction, harm and carnage in the past twenty-five years than any other single group, nation or organization.
