Update on Afghan Christian: Abdul Rahman has safely left Afghanistan
ABDUL RAHMAN has safely left Afghanistan.
Abdul Rahman left Afghanistan early Wednesday morning for Italy, which has offered him asylum. He may arrive in Italy as early as today. The Afghanistan parliament’s demand that Rahman be barred from fleeing the country was unsuccessful. Rahman was taking refuge in a “safe location” inside Kabul before his departure.
The Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi said that Rome is happy to grant asylum to Abdul Rahman:
“I say that we are very glad to be able to welcome someone who has been so courageous,” Berlusconi said.
Amen!

Wonderful news, and God bless him for standing up for what he believes.

Four years after invading, with our troops still in control of the capitol, we can’t provide a safe and secure environment for one Christian living — or perhaps, almost dying — in Afghanistan.
This fact alone speaks volumes about our administration.

Mr. Stop Bush, 4 years after invading….. AFGHANISTAN???? INVADING Afghanistan.
Okay, then. I will not question your sincerity as it relates to a Christian’s life being spared, but if you seriously believe the INVASION of Afghanistan has resulted in no progress, you’re simply uninformed.
1) In case you didn’t realize it, Abdul Rahman was not executed. 4 years ago there would have been no question as to his fate. Christians have it better in Afghanistan today than they did then. Women and non-Taliban men also have it better. Afghanistan had it’s first free election IN HISTORY in the past 4 years, and women were not only voting (as were Christians), but on the ballot. Right, this sounds like total failure. I’m sure women and Christians long for the day, pre-4 years ago, of Taliban rule, mass executions and stonings. Ah, the good old days.
With our troops in charge of the capital? Where are you getting your information from? Afghanistan is in charge of the capital.
