Fight Back!!!
I just sent an email to the Vice President because I thought it important that the White House know how much their base wants a fight and how much we want to win that fight on the battlefield of who’s got the better stance on the issues.
Here’s my email:
Mr. Vice President, First, let me say that I’m thankful that you’re our vice president. I’m totally convinced that you’re a great man.
Mr. Vice President, what I don’t understand is why you & President Bush haven’t come out and totally knocked down Joe Wilson’s lies. I’d understand if he wasn’t talking about a big issue or if he just talked about it a couple times. But leaving his blatant lies go day after day, week after week on such an important issue as the war in Iraq is political suicide.
It’s time for you & President Bush to come out swinging against him, Harry Reid and anyone else that’s playing this issue to their advantage. It’s time you did that on an entire range of issues, from tax cuts to spending cuts to the Patriot Act to drilling in ANWR.
Mr. Vice President, I know you & President Bush care about these things but it isn’t obvious in your actions that you do. I worked hard to get you guys re-elected a year ago. Now it’s your turn to show some fire in the belly, too, so we have a leader we can follow.
Go to war on ANWR. People want to know that you’re fighting to make all types of energy more plentiful. They want to know that long-term energy needs are being addressed. Also, tell them that the Energy Bill that the President signed will help on that front, too. Don’t just push the legislation & then forget about it afterwards. Tout it. LOUDLY.
Go to war against the leakers at the CIA. People here in the heartland want to know that we’re getting the best intelligence available & that the CIA doesn’t have a political agenda.
In short, Mr. Vice President, be the leader we know you are. We’re loyal to your views and we’re itching for a fight. The best part of all this is that we’ve got the intellectual ammunition to obliterate those who’d stand against us.
