Stephanopoulos: Racists are Republicans
On Sunday’s episode of This Week, George Stephanopoulos stated that “anyone who’s not going to vote for Barack Obama because he is black isn’t going to vote for a Democrat anyway”. These are strong words, implying that no democrats are racists, and that only Republicans would deny votes based upon race. This echoes a very similar statement made by Obama himself, who said “Are some voters not going to vote for me because I’m African-American? Those are the same voters who probably wouldn’t vote for me because of my politics”. As I discussed before, this implies that all racists are Republicans, and in turn that Republicans are racist in nature. While it is true that there are racist Republicans, there are also racist Democrats (one is a Senator), racist Independents, racist Green party members.
Suffice it to say that I have plenty of reasons not to vote for Obama, and none of them are the color of his skin. Rather, it is his stance on many issues: abortion on demand, minimum wage increases, Socialized health care, increased taxes, and abandoning Iraq, among others.
Furthermore, as I mentioned last week, “white-flight” is more pronounced amongst Democrats than Republicans.
White Republicans nationally are 25 percentage points more likely on average to vote for the Democratic senatorial candidate when the GOP hopeful is black
…
But racially motivated crossover voting is not just a Republican phenomenon. Democrats also desert their party when its candidate is black, Washington found. In House races, white Democrats are 38 percentage points less likely to vote Democratic if their candidate is black
While it may score some political points for Obama and Stephanopoulos to make such assertions about Republicans being racists, the facts tell a different story. From my perspective, race and religion are only issues insofar as people allow them to be, and it’s a shame that so many people - Obama included - choose to make this an issue.

As someone pointed out last week (I think it was Rush), up until the time that Obama wins the Democratic nomination, the only people who will/will not be voting for him are Democrats (most states restrict primaries to registered party members).
It warms my heart to hear Obama and that witless dwarf Stephanopoulos admit that there are racist Democrats who won’t be voting for Obama because he’s an African American.

“It warms my heart to hear Obama and that witless dwarf Stephanopoulos admit that there are racist Democrats”
Kafir, actually they aren’t admitting it. They are saying exactly the opposite.

What they’re saying is that if you vote for Hillary or anyone else but B. Hussein Obama (I’m sorry, was that racist?) you are not a real democrat and you are a racist.
Sad thing is, nobody’s calling Obama or Staphanopolis on that racist sentiment. What they’re saying is vote for the weasel because he is black, and nothing else. They can dress it up however they want, but that’s what it is.

Carlos, I agree that they are implying he should be voted for only because he is black, but you give them too much credit. They are not saying if you vote for HIllary you are a racist, they are saying non-democrats (and thus republicans) are racists. Stephanopoulos explicity said racists won’t vote Democrat. That should, thus, include Hillary. Obama said something similar, in that those who choose race as an issue typically disagree with his politics (i.e. “aren’t democrats”).

What a crock of bullshit!
If you dont vote for Obama, and your not a Democrat you must be a racist. Thats what Steph is implying. They are attempting to paint whatever candidate may win over Obama in an election, and the people who voted for them, as racist.
Tell me these jerks aren’t closet race baiting Leninnists.

I didn’t waste the time reading Hat Pines’ connection, but I suspect it is as much revisionist history as most other moonbat history forced upon the public in public schools now.
The fact is Lincoln was a racist in a party that supported racism but despised slavery, according to today’s standards.
As opposed to that great party, the party of jackasses, who fervently supported slavery and split this nation in a great civil war over that and many other issues having to do with just how much power should be vested in a central government.
And Obama is just the latest “star” of that party.
