Hooters Chairman Brooks Found Dead

AP reports: “Robert Brooks, the chairman of Hooters of America Inc. who made a fortune selling chicken wings served by scantily clad waitresses, was found dead at his home Sunday, officials said. He was 69.” [Years old]

God bless him and may he rest in peace? Only a man could say that. He promoted the sexualization of women. I don’t think that’s praise worthy. I’ve had to stand at bus stops and gas stations and walk down the street only to be beckoned in disgusting ways by men who see things like HOOTERS and think women are made for them to lust after.

The only intersting thing about Robert Brooks is that he died at 69.

Mr. Brooks merely capitalized on sex appeal; the cosmetics and fashion industries, not to mention all of Hollywood and media, promote the sexualization of women. It all began with the history of red lipstick…

If a woman is walking down the street or waiting at a busstop dressed like a Hooters girl (see photo) and expects no one to notice, that’s either disingenious or just plain ignorant. Easy remedy: If one is not dressing to get attention, one will not get it…

And then there’s always Sex and The City. That’ll help ease repression.

Mr. Nelson, speaking as a woman, I’ve always been a modest dresser, but the immodesty of others and the expliotation of those women hurt ALL women and give ALL women attention whether they want it to not.

I’m not about to blame Playboy on redlipstick, not to mention Hooters. I’m simply saying that this is how this particular woman feels about Hooters.

I’m a man and I’ve been sexually harrassed. Ya know….I kinda liked it. It beats being some slob who never knows what it’s like to be desired by women. Maybe the women don’t like it but I did.

Men are attracted to sexy women’s bodies, plain fact. In the past it was getting a glimpse of an ankle, now its Hooters.
The sexualization is a prerequisite, so the worst you can say about Hooters and make up and fashion industry etc is that they promote it. But blaming these things for a very basic instinct we are all born with is silly.
I think mags like Cosmo are far more damaging than something like Hooters. At least Hooters is honest and not pretending to be anything else than what it is. As something of a feminist myself I find Cosmo much, much more condemnable and downright dangerous than simple exhibitionism.
