Conservatisms

"Say nothing of my religion. It is known to God and myself alone. Its evidence before the world is to be sought in my life: if it has been honest and dutiful to society the religion which has regulated it cannot be a bad one."

Death To Israel Rally

First, in San Francisco…

Jews=Nazis?

Kick Jews Out of America?
(Photos: ZombieTime, August 12, 2006, San Francisco)

Today, in Utah

Jews = Nazis*? Wow! Holy Moses. We knew public education was failing us, but that’s beyond despair.

Or as the old Virginia Slims slogan used to patronize: “You’ve come a long way, baby.” Sure do.

But it really makes you wonder: In the bastion of liberalism-run-amok that is San Francisco, where’s the collective outrage to such blatant displays of bigotry and intolerance?

Imagine someone holding a sign that declares, “Mexicans: Kick’em Out of America,” or “Blacks Back To Africa” or “Asians, Crowd Your Own Nations.” He wouldn’t dare show up in any public square, let alone trumpet across from City Hall.

It’s almost…as if…liberals are…selective in their tolerance. We can only dread the consequences had someone driven by with a bumper sticker that says “Vote Republican” — it might’ve created a French riot.

  1. Could someone please answer me … why can THEY get away with this, but we can’t with expressing the same sentiments towards THEM?

No it people who think they are liberals but are really not. Over here they are called “trendy lefties”

I would consider my self a liberal. Indeed compared to most of the people on here I am probably a uber-liberal :)

But I would not tolerate that crap. As you said change Israelis to blacks and it is a whole different story.

Liberalism is about treating everyone with dignaty and not impossing your beliefs on someone else.

  3. Using media tag-terms like “Liberals” and “Conservatives” is rather silly and judgemental in this day & age. If you look up the definitions of those terms you might realize how they have multiple meanings. Also, the guy holding the Israel sign is clearly an idiot, but rest assured he probably voted for Bush.

    Comment by Deb — September 28, 2006 @ 2:12 pm

  4. Aside from being wrong in general, the mere notion that you think someone attending a protest rally in San Francisco “probably voted for Bush” simply underscores the fact that you are woefully uninformed. While the City has some conservatives in-hiding (the only “unprotected class”), they’re at work and never gathering on the street for this nonesense.

  5. No, he probably voted for Bush because he’s an idiot.
