The Bill Clinton CD: Songs To Remember
Makes a perfect, ahem, stocking stuffer…
AP reports: “Former President Clinton is getting his own CD compilation. Organizers said it will be called “The Bill Clinton Collection: Selections from the Clinton Music Room” and is planned as the first in a series of discs of the former president’s favorites.”
“The Clinton Presidential Foundation has been working for months to acquire licensing rights to certain titles. Foundation president Skip Rutherford said the process is complete and mass production has begun for the 11-track disc.”
We might suggest a few songs. “Can’t Touch This,” or “Just A Gigolo” might be appropriate.
We could go on, but we’re sure the blogosphere is full of better ideas. Let’s hear ‘em.
What song(s) make you think of Slick Willie?
Since this CD is Bill Clinton’s first foray into the music business, let’s make sure he’s got plenty of material for a “box set.” Who knows, he might even sit in on a few tracks to “blow” some sax.

From my big collection of songs I’ve acquired in my years as a DJ (no more, alas):
Bill Clinton - The Music of Infamy
11 tracks + 1 hidden bonus
1. Lucifer (Alan Parsons Project)
2. Change (Tears For Fears)
3. Make A Circuit With Me (The Polecats)
4. Broken Promises (Survivor)
5. Election Day (Arcadia)
6. Losing My Religion (REM)
7. We’re Not Gonna Take It [The People's Response] (Twisted Sister)
8. An Innocent Man (Billy Joel)
9. Sour Girl (Stone Temple Pilots)
10. Hero Takes A Fall (The Bangles)
11. Texas (Chris Rea)
(Hidden) 12. Widow’s Walk (Suzanne Vega)
The rationale:
Lucifer is how Clinton appeared in 1991/92, Change was his election.
Make a Circuit with me is his increasing love affair with the computer industry, Broken Promises resulted in the Repubs being elected in 1994.
Election Day is self-explanatory, while Losing My Religion…needs no explaination when the following songs are put forth.
We’re Not Gonna Take It is the public and GOP response, An Innocent Man is the proclamation, Sour Girl is the excuse.
Hero Takes a Fall = Scandal, Impeachment, Tech Bubble Burst, Texas…this should be easy to figure out.
Hidden track is Widow’s Walk, which is what Bill has to do.
