Veteran’s Day 2005: True American Heroes
What is Veteran’s Day?
According to MSN Encarta it is “a holiday observed annually in the United States in honor of all those, living and dead, who served with the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who have died in wartime, Veterans Day honors all those who have served, in times of peace as well as in war.”
So today, Rightfielder honors all of our Veterans — those who were received well when they returned home (as in WW1 and WW2), and those who were not (as in Vietnam). We especially honor those who have served in Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. May God bless them all and return them safely to their families.
Even though Veteran’s day is to honor all members of the U.S. armed forces, I would like to offer the readers to trackback to three earlier articles written, in honor of young men who gave their lives serving our country in Iraq. The stories are very in depth with lots of personal details.
I invite you to spend some time with these true American heroes.
RightFielder was created for the purpose of supporting the U.S. military in the War against Terrorism. The writer is a husband, a father, a Christian, a Republican, and a Patriot. It is his belief that the Democratic party has been hijacked by extremists and recklessly driven off the edge of sanity. It is his hope that both moderate Democrats and Republicans can unite and stand against terrorism, supporting our military, our current President, and our next President — whatever party he might be from.
