1992 wasn't an enema Mitch, it was a half assed attempt at one. An enema cleans out all the crap. That one brought more in than it took out.

Where, in the entire article, did you get
<blockquote>When asked by the Washington Post’s Dan Balz and Chris Cillizza what would happen if Gen. Petraeus’ reported good news from Iraq, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn told them that good news would be “a real big problem for us.”</blockquote>
??? Maybe you just linked to the wrong article, because that quote is taken so far out of context, you might as well attribute Abu Gonzales as any Democrat.

But let's examine what's really going on. Now, remember, under No Child Left Behind, there is no test score interpretation allowed, no "fuzzy math" as the presnit is fond if saying, simply pass or fail. So why can't we use the same standards when evaluating Iraq? Probably because, without the parsing and bloviating, the truth is that only somewhere between 3 and 7 of the 18 benchmarks for Iraq have been met. Of course, no conservatives are talking about what has been met, mostly because the "goals met include establishing joint security stations in Baghdad, ensuring minority rights in the Iraqi legislature and creating support committees for the Baghdad security plan." Ooh, committees! Now there's a worthy benchmark by which to judge the surge!

Let's be generous, and say that the Iraqis have met 7 of the benchmarks; that is still a failing grade. I guess we could compare Iraq to Bush's other failures, from Katrina to bin Laden, which makes a 38% success rate outstanding on the bell curve, resulting in <b>a pass</b>. Now there's something the Bush cabal is used to.

The truly sickening part of this whole mess is that our soldiers are paying for this charade with their lives. As Paul Begala put it, "A man who chose not to serve, took steps, used family friends to get out of serving in Vietnam, didn’t even show up for his own Guard duty, so that better, braver men could fight that war. He stood before those better, braver men today a coward in the company of heroes."

We had a "political enema" in 1992 and look where that got us?

Nothing worries me more than a 3rd party giving the election to the the Clintonista's, except maybe an election rigged with illegal alien voters and hacked e-voting, oh yea lets not forget Acorn and company....

Problem is we are dealing with a stupified population, more interested in sex, Hollywood, and personal gratification (or is all that too redundent?) rather than their own national security. Harry Reid and others like him could never have pulled off the smoke and mirrors game 25 or 30 years ago. McGovern would have loved to, but even he was too honest and faced a Republican party that had balls.

Now, with few exceptions, we have scumbags, potheads, sexual perverts and political wusses on both sides of the aisle.

What the country really needs is good political enema.

and we sit and wait patiently for the demise of the Democratic Party. I really am looking forward to next years elections. Every news report (MSM style) is just plain old. Rehash all the same rhetoric. People are hearing!!!!
