That stratagy allowed us not only to get bogged down in Iraq, but also to allow Osama Bin Laden to remain free six years after the WTC attack. I am a longtime Republican who belives that we were fully justified in going to war in Afghanistan, and I spoke out against any invasion of Iraq several weeks prior to the beginning of that operation. The disastrous results of that diversion are apparent today, and although the architects of this disaster were Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, the ultimate responsibility for this must remain with the President.
