Actually, McCain did not miss the mark. He Is the authority on the topic and we'll do well to take notes on his remarks regarding the subject. We should be thankful to have that kind of a man in a position of potentially strong leadership for our nation. McCain is speaking from a standpoint of conviction and not perceived popularity like some wrist-watch-gage of public opinion. McCain wants to do what is right and that alone will bring him to the top if we are paying attention. Someone actually said "double gitmo". The fact it's off shores is, oh, a mild indication something is wrong here. Kind of an "oh, we can't treat all people with human rights, just Americans", is hopefully as far from a Christian Conservative viewpoint as we can get, sorry. McCain, press on... Human rights is, human rights and what nation on Earth is going to accept our border-specific love for our neighbor? Hmmm. Thanks McCain. Press on, true leader!

Torture is raping your wife in front of you, then disemboweling her, then slitting her throat. Torture is pretending to shoot you in the head, sometimes many times a day for several days, then making you watch while they actually do shoot another prisoner in the head, then starting with you all over again. Torture is gouging out your eyes, and/or castrating you, and/or removing other body parts like digits, toes, arms or legs.

Waterboarding is protested by wingnuts because it works, not because it's torture, but they've apparently convinced enough sheep that it really is torture.

McCain, bless his heart and thank you for your honorable service, is blinded by that same service. If he doesn't know by now the Islamofascists don't give a rip about the rules of torture until they themselves are captured, he never will, and that would be one of two major and unacceptable weaknesses of his presidency, the other being amnesty for illegal alien criminals.

Dick Morris had it right on O'Reilly tonight: McCain has become one of the insiders in D.C. now. Not what the nation needs or can survive with.
