The Marines: They’re Tough — But They Can Sing, Too
Not to mention the ability to keep a sense of humor.
Have you heard the latest controversy about “Hadji Girl?”
If not, you probably haven’t seen the VIDEO yet.
(Turn up your speakers and listen closely)
What you’ll hear in the lyrics is a humorous account about a Marine who goes into a Burger King, gets lured into an ambush by a young girl, as her family starting shooting at him and — in true radical Muslim-style — he grabs her sister as a shield. (Obviously, if you see them do it enough times, why not try it?) Alas, the girl is shot to death — by her own family. That’s it.
And guess what? The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is indignant. Go figure. It’s not like they couldn’t find better things to do, like maybe condemn the public beatings of women in Iran during a Womens Rights rally? (There’s probably an Iranian song for that, too) But hell no. Not when you’ve got the Marines to pick on — Jack Murtha has shown the way. Dirka dirka, Muhammed Jihad!
So, you’d figure this would all just blow over, right? A simple case of Freedom of Speech, we’d just laugh it off.* Wrong.
As AllahPundit notes: “CAIR shoots, CAIR scores.”
The USMC caves in.
That’s a sad song, indeed.

*Dan Riehl adds:
“Now they are talking about screwing with his career. Apparently you can go off to fight for America. You just aren’t entitled to all of her rights. It’s pathetic if the military caves to CAIR on this.”
Sorry, Dan. They did. And yes, it is pathetic.
