AB(DN)C is reporting that Hillary Clinton is being the opportunist that we all know she is. That isn’t how they’ve worded it, of course, but that’s the effect of it. Here’s the specifics of her complaint:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called the Bush administration “incompetent” when it came to protecting the troops in combat and called the lack of adequate body armor for soldiers and Marines “unforgivable.”

The truth is that the forces already wear a ton of protective gear. The other truth intentionally omitted from this hitpiece is that most choose to not wear additional body armor because it would slow them down while they’re in the field. Most servicemen feel that they’d be more likely to get killed if they wore the additional body armor.

But you won’t hear that from the Agenda Media and you certainly won’t hear it from ‘Gen.’ Clinton. Why let facts get in the way of a good diatribe seems to be the Democrats’ mantra and Sen. Clinton is totally willing to utilize that as anyone.

“This is Bush/Cheney policy…I’ve been one of the leading critics pointing out all the failures, the incompetencies,” Clinton said. “I am just bewildered as to how this president and this vice president continue to isolate themselves from different point of views. He’s [President Bush has] got three more years in office. Some of us wish this wasn’t the case.”

Sen. Clinton’s diatribe notwithstanding, the truth is that she’s nothing more than a windbag. She’s been a “leading critic” because it’s the only way to keep the nutjob base on board while she pretends to care about the armed forces.

As for her “He’s [President Bush has] got three more years in office. Some of us wish this wasn’t the case…” statement, I’ll just say that she’s got another year left in this term and some of us wish this wasn’t the case. As for the final point of not knowing why “this president and this vice president continue to isolate themselves from different point of views”, let’s just say that I’d run from differing opinions if they were the type of mindless drivel that she’s been spouting. If they were offered by Joe Lieberman, though, I’d listen attentively.
