Bhutto Assassination
Today’s assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is a horrifying reminder that Islamic extremists want to impose their warped political views on Western civilization.
Bhutto’s assassination is proof that the extremists’ ideology knows no geographic boundaries. They seek to impose their will throughout the world, whether it’s New York City, London, Tel Aviv, Bali, Madrid or Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Ms Bhutto had just addressed an election rally in Rawalpindi when she was shot in the neck by a gunman who then set off a bomb. At least 16 other people died in the attack and several more were injured.
President Pervez Musharraf condemned the killing and urged people to remain calm so that the “nefarious designs of terrorists can be defeated.”
This is proof that there’s only one way to deal with these extremists. For months, Pervez Musharraf necessarily walked a tightrope with the extremists. This assassination should be the end of that tightrope walk. It’s time for Musharraf to eliminate the extremists.

Are you sure that this was because of Islamic extremism, and not simple kleptocratism?

I would like to comment on T.A. Gray’s name calling of females, gays and liberals. There are gays, females and liberals fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq and dying to bring peace and stability to those countries is he willing to do the same?
I would suggest before he critizes others he should walk a mile in their shoes.

how do we know this is some islamic extremist, the one to benefit most is musharraf himself, how do we know that it isnt the army, we just need to look at pakistans history of deadly coups and we see only one key player not islamic extremists of al qaeda but the army they are to blame and have always been to blame.
t.a. what democracy r u talking about, what happened to the democracy in palestine when the palestinians voted to have hamas create thier govt, why did the int. community and all those who r for ‘democracy’ denounce hamas? regardless of thier ideology or methods if they were voted into power by the people they should b able to create the govt they dont need to denounce anything or share any power with thier opposition plo, if it were the other way around hamas wouldnt b sharing power with plo. i guess all these pro democracy supporters are two faced/hypocrite, they cry out for justice and democracy but if its not to their liking than they denounce it.
