A Call To Action: Sacramento City Council’s Anti-War Resolution

I just received a SPECIAL ALERT from Move America Forward.

Tonight from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Pacific Time (10:00 PM - 11:00 PM Eastern Time) we will hear from the ONE MAN who stood up for our troops when the Sacramento City Council passed a shameful resolution condemning the war in Iraq.

Councilman Robbie Waters will do his first interview since the Council passed their anti-troop resolution on November 1, 2005. He’ll be a guest on “The Mark Williams Show” on KFBK 1530 AM — Sacramento.

Click here to read the anti-war in Iraq resolution written and PASSED by the City of Sacramento City Council:

OPPOSING THE WAR IN IRAQ AND CALLING ON PRESIDENT BUSH TO BEGIN THE WITHDRAWAL OF AMERICAN TROOPS

We need to flood the phone lines with calls supporting Councilman Waters tonight. You can be sure the anti-war crowd will be pummeling him. The call in number is (916) 921-1530.

You can listen live from anywhere in the nation via the live stream at: http://www.KFBK.com

Or if you live in Northern California listen to AM 1530 - KFBK Sacramento.

And then call in to the show to voice your support for Robbie Waters: (916) 921-1530

Anti-military activists now targeting Councilman Waters for defeat because of what they call a “pro-military” vote.

This website explains how the anti-war crowd mobilized their supporters to flood the Sacramento City Council meeting to pass the resolution. And now they are working to remove the lone pro-troop vote, Robbie Waters, from the City Council.

“Only one council member opposed the resolution and it was Robbie Waters. Does anyone know someone that would like to run against Waters? He definitely needs to be replaced and we’d love to support some opposition to him.”

Move America Forward is right now working with military families to get the Council to rescind their anti-troop/anti-war resolution.

To lay the groundwork for that effort we’ve been urging you to call and email the Council Members to let them know how you feel.

This is the paragraph that kills me

WHEREAS, Nebraska Republican Senator Chuck Hagel, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, stated in August of this year, “the reality is that we’re losing in Iraq,” and that “there is a parallel emerging” between the War in Iraq and the War in Vietnam

Questions:

1) By what standard are we losing? Each election is more succesful. Might this be a last desperate attempt by the left to force a pullout before the final victory?
2) What is the parrel? Isn’t it true that 200,000 Iraqi troops have been trained? I could also say, “There is a parallel between Iraq and the American Revolutionary War” - but shouldn’t the burden of proof be on me to state and prove what is is?

The only parallel emerging is that once again the politicians are trying to call the shots, and the liberals are trying to undermine the effort. The radical difference is that the Vietnamese did not have terror cells around the world, waiting to pounce on a weak and innefectual America.

This resolution spells disaster for America.

The people of America better stand up and be counted before we all have to deal with a war on our own soil and then it will be to late because this country is full of cowards that have no honor.

  2. Rightfielder Says:

The more I read the more frustrated I get. The liberals tout each other as “experts.” They poll in areas that will anwser in thier favor, and then they tout the statistics. They even use television shows to promote Hillary in 2008 and slander the Minutemen.
The only good thing is some Republicans are starting to wake up.

  3. Michael Ejercito Says:

The Sacramento City Council ought to mind its own affairs.
A few days ago, I read a letter in the Long Beach Press-Telegram explaining why the Long Beach City Council should not pass any resolutions about the war in Iraq. It is up to our elected represenatives in Congress toi decide foreign policy.

i’m confused by the claim that America is ‘weak and ineffectual.’ we have a military budget larger than EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. COMBINED. Our troops and larger in number and trained to be the best killing machines in the world. We’ve successfully overthrown government after government around the world in order to protect our US corporations. I guess we have fallen shy of TOTAL world domination though. Maybe thats the point being made. And to go off a second comment, hey, i can’t believe the ‘minutemen’ get slandered either! A bunch of armed mobs going around shooting innocent civilian families? thats the kind of MORAL VALUES that got G-Wub into office! Now if only the native americans had been as effective as picking off invaders into their country…
