The Sum Of All Fears

Rescind Mr. President. Faith is a misplaced emotion in the long war on terror, and the assurance that U.S. ports will be secure when they are managed by a firm owned by a government in one of the most volatile parts of the world, is worthless.

As the old saying goes, politics makes for strange bedfellows.

It's a sad state of affairs when anti-Bush folk are siding with us over this issue.

That said, call us cynical, but we'd wager that if Bush had come out of the gates saying, "Hell no we're not gonna have a buncha Arabs run our ports," the same people today (Schumer, et al) would be playing it the other way around -- namely, accusing the President of being "racist" and saying "we need to stregthen our partnerships in the Middle East", etc. etc.

Sometimes, you just can't win. Regardless, we're disappointed in W. He needs to rethink this VERY carefully.

If ANYTHING EVER comes onto our shores via the ports (for you fans of 24, you know what we're talking about), his Administration will be forever to blame. Better safe than sorry.

Unbelievable!

So, let's just be clear. After 9/11, Bush said "No one could have known they were going to fly planes into buildings." After Katina, Bush said "No one knew the levees were going to break." Now, this.

So that Bush can't say "No one knew..." here goes: MR. PRESIDENT, I KNOW THAT THESE ARABS ARE GOING TO ATTACK OUR PORTS. Now, everyone on this blog knows, so no one here can ever say "no one knew..."

Let's see how long it takes. It's just a matter of time.
