WARNING: Hating Republicans Is Hazardous To Your Health

Not to speak ill of the dead, but sometimes we learn from others’ passing.

One of Michelle Malkin’s readers uncovered a recent obituary, mourning the loss of a man whose “activist spirit,” it appears, just won’t die. As Michelle notes: “Some people just can’t seem to Move On…even after they’ve moved on.”

Most obituaries do not offer a detailed autopsy. This one does.

“An avid atheist, he studied the bible and religion with more fervor than most Christians. He had strong political opinions and followed Amy Goodman’s radio broadcast ‘Democracy Now.’ Alas the stolen election of 2000 and living with right-winged Americans finally brought him to his early demise. Stress from living in this unjust country brought about several heart attacks rendering him disabled.”

While the underlying cause of death may be debated, we find more evidence of the right-wing affliction.

In 2003, S.F. Chronicle readers learned the story of Deborah Dashow Ruth, a 62-year-old writer residing in the tranquil, wooded-hilltop village of Kensington, CA, who blamed a recent onset of physical ailments on the war.

“She ascribes her current health problems to the intense emotions the war has provoked,” the paper reported.

More specifically:

“Just as Iraq was invaded by the viral Republican administration,” complains Ruth, “I have been invaded by these viral Republican conditions.”

Following President Bush’s re-election, it must’ve been exceptionally traumatic.

We can only hope that Ms. Ruth and others like her are better coping with the pain and learning to live with the anguish, but we remain doubtful. However, it’s only a matter of time until San Francisco forces health care providers to offer coverage for this pernicious political condition.

Michelle Malkin & Friends Mock the Death of a Liberal

Unfortunately, the mockery was done by the deceased’s family, using his obituary as a political screed.
