And, as Bill Handle on KPRI pointed out this morning, the Baucus Bill wants you to believe that taxing the middle class, will make health care more affordable for them.

Let me repeat that: the Baucus Bill wants you to believe that taxing the middle class will make health care more affordanble for them.

I guess you really have to live in DC to believe that.

Hey Congress! You guys you really want to make health care more affordable, like auto insurance?

Then MAKE IT LIKE AUTO INSURANCE!

Interesting comment on the radio today. It was Hannity, I believe, who pointed out that Medicare/Medicade denies about 7.2% of claims. One of the arguments for the "public option" is to deny insurance companies the right to deny claims in the name of profits. The insurance companies deny claims at about 6%, with Aetna the highest at about 6.8%.

So, they want us to change to a system that denies claims at a HIGHER rate because that's going to be better for us?

I don't think so.

And BTW, it will take about 3 months for that $8.1B to disappear when they finally get around to setting up their incompetent review boards, then the denial rate will go through the roof. Or else they won't care about the deficit until private insurance is driven out of business, then they'll start making up the deficit with denials of everything.
