Sustaining Liberalism Through Myths, Lies

Liberalism continues to exist in America only because numerous myths and outright lies have been perpetuated by Democrats.

Among the more prominent abuses of the truth are the following:

- President Clinton acted responsibly when he TWICE refused to take Osama bin Laden into custody. Besides, 9/11 would have happened anyhow.

- President Bush lied about WMD. Therefore, surveillance of calls that might prevent another 9/11 attack is an impeachable offense, and the Patriot Act should be scrapped.

- Privacy, including the right to abort innocent human life at will, is guaranteed, in specific detail, to all women by the Constitution.

- Separation of church and state is clearly mandated by the Constitution.

- Morality and moral values are relative, subject to change as people become more educated and sophisticated. Honoring traditional values from prior generations reflects a narrow-minded and intolerant obsession with the past.

- Young workers need not worry about Social Security. It will remain robust and solvent, as is, and will be there in 50 years to meet the retirement needs of those now in their 20s.

- Illegal immigration is a benefit to the American economy. There are no social or cultural disadvantages.

- School prayer, even when voluntary, harms non-believers more than it benefits believers. Therefore, it is unconstitutional.

- President Clinton was impeached because of a consensual affair. That affair was nobody’s business except the president, his wife and countless “other women” in the president’s secret harem.

- Clinton’s perjury, obstruction of justice & witness tampering were not factors in his fall from grace in the eyes of Congress.

- Gun control laws reduce crime & make law-abiding citizens safer.

- AIDS is not predominantly a gay disease.

- Affirmative Action is a part of the American Dream and is NOT reverse discrimination.

- Government-sponsored health care would immediately solve America’s health-care crisis, including the plight of 40 million uninsured. The federal deficit would not be impacted.

- Increasing the minimum wage would improve the standard of living for America’s lowest paid workers, without causing employers to cut jobs or other benefits.

- Improving the quality of education is always the greatest priority for teachers’ unions. Concerns for teacher tenure and salaries are never permitted to trump the best interests of our children.

Exposing these liberal myths and lies is essential to preserving GOP control of the government. Let’s do it!

John W Lillpop is a recovering liberal who has been “clean and sober” since 1992 when he last voted for a Democrat. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, the only place on earth where Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer are considered sane and intelligent.

Taken singularly, each of these myths (and many others) seem fairly harmless. Yet they are the backbone of every argument put forth by the libs/dems/moonbats/socialists/communists, and are frequently peppered at unsuspecting questioners in order to confuse and obfuscate any particular issue.

When confronting a person prone to use these myths, stick on the current subject. They won’t, and no amount of logic or argument will ever convince them that there is a flaw in their rhetoric.

    You forgot a couple..

-Natural disaster relief is a responsibilty that sits squarly on the president himself. No local beuracracy, department, or local official holds nearly as much responsibility as this one single individual when it comes to natural disasters.

-The president is required by law to be completely athiest, and if he expresses any tendancy towards a single religious belief, he is secretly bent on transforming the country into a theoacracy.
