San Francisco Shuns USS IOWA
We first reported about it here last month, and now the same news makes headlines again.
(Hattip: Bryan Preston)
Disgraceful. Shameless. San Francisco.
UPDATE:
S.F. Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi appeared on Hannity & Colmes this evening. He may be the most presentable of the lot, but his message was in lockstep.
The liberal talking point for deflection was “boondoggle.” But when pressed by Hannity about the “real” reasons for the decision against berthing the USS Iowa, Mirkarimi admitted that anti-war, anti-military (homosexual policy) and anti-Bush politics weighed in right alongside the alleged economic concerns.
Hannity ended the segment by suggesting, “If I could guarantee that the USS Iowa would never cost the city a dime, you still would’ve voted against it.” To which Mirkarimi hesitantly replied, “Not necessarily.”
Money is just the excuse. The truth is liberal politics prevail.

[...] (a) If Sandoval has such “tremendous respect for veterans,” he would understand the significance of his vote. (b) The S.F. War Memorial is more of an entertainment center (e..g opera house) than a dedicated tribute to veterans. But perhaps Sandoval is a patron of the arts. I did go on Fox News to argue against docking a 10-story battleship on the San Francisco waterfront as a tourist attraction — a position that enjoys strong support in the city. [...]
