S.F. Politics: The Best Ballot Review. Ever.

If only we could find more honest assessments like this one.

The Examiner’s Ken Garcia reports:

“There is a word that adequately sums up the propositions on the San Francisco ballot this June. Misguided, supercilious and ill-advised would all apply. But the simple description that works best is ‘no.’

If ever local ballot measures deserve to be thrown out, they’re the ones city voters will see on June 6, when they’ll be asked to throw good money after bad and weigh in on initiatives based on silly ideology. Of course, that doesn’t mean they won’t pass. After all, anything is possible in a city that has Chris Daly on its Board of Supervisors.” [Read the full story]

And that’s what we’re dealing with here.

A City run by socialist zealots. An uninformed, liberal activist electorate. A very dangerous combination.

San Francisco is perhaps the most poorly governed city in America. Oh, wait, I forgot Antonio Villaraigosa in LA! Well, anyway. Let me tell you a secret from here in San Francisco. Rational people are leaving this city by the thousands each year. They are fleeing the public schools that insist on busing first graders all over the city for “diversity”. They are fleeing a “median” home price of $800,000 (for an unrenovated piece of crap). They are fleeing the legions of vagrants and psychotics living on the street. They are fleeing a “transit first” city that has declared war on cars, parking, and any other sort of private transportion. They are fleeing a city council that is composed of moonbat leftists that would be put in asylums anywhere else. In the last 10-12 years, the demographics of this city have been transformed. The white middle class with kids is almost gone. The young dot-com types that came here in the 90’s are now running the place. If you want to know their priorities, just log onto Indymedia. We have huge numbers of immigrants from Asia and Latin America, but most of them don’t or can’t vote, so our “government” is dominated by the “urban hip” crowd that never gets tired of telling everyone else how to live. The results, after 10 years, are all around us. If you want to see what America would look like with the Left in charge, by all means come and take a look.

I totally agree with Scott. I moved to SF in 1999 for a dot-com job. The infuriating way they run this city (and state!) — and how homeless crackheads and illegal aliens get more protection/care than hard-working Americans — is the main reason I’m looking to move away from California.
