ANWR?

Right, because the US doesn't do enough to help energy companies benefit to the detriment of its citizens.

Gary, I'd rather a moderate Republican get elected than a big government conservative. I'm tired of deficit spending and interference with state's rights and individual rights by the GOP.

And I do live in a Republican district, so Republican in fact that my Congressman is running unopposed. I'll just be withholding my vote.

And I'm not sending a message - I am exercising my right to vote how I choose. I have made a determination that neither party represents my rather libertarian point of view and that divided government would be the best situation.

KG, Thanks for essentially voting Democrat. I hope you don't live in a Republican district. If you do, I'd be mightily upset. This notion that you're sending a message is foolish. The only message that gets sent is that the only Republicans getting elected will be moderates. NICE MESSAGE!!!

Honestly, this thing doesn't affect my energy level.

I'm fed up with the national GOP and have no intention of voting for any Republican running for federal office come November. (Un)Fortunately, I am equally fed up with the California Democratic party and will most likely be voting Republican on all state offices (with the possible exception of AG).

It was a cheap stunt to quell the resistence to big government conservativism that has taken over the party. On some levels I hope it backfires. If only to remind the national party what we send them to DC to do.

Kennedy meant to say he was an independent drinker.

The Kennedy they're talking about is MARK Kennedy, not Tubby. DFL.org is a blog that rips on Republicans and that's what they were doing there.

Entitlement programs.....
Like the Republican prescription drug program?
Like the current Department of Defense budget?
Before we cast stones, let's remember who's had control of Congress since 1994 and who's had control of both that and the presidency since 2000. If the entitlement programs haven't gone away, and government hasn't gotten smaller, you don't need to look to the other side of the aisle for someone to blame.

So Tubby doesn't believe in discriminatory legislation? What about the death tax? Or, for that matter, any tax at all? They all discriminate against those of us willing to go out and bust our butts trying to make an honest buck.

What about his (and McCan't's) amnesty bill? That discriminates against anyone who has an honest job in this country.

What about his whiney stoppage of the wind farm? That discriminates against anyone who uses electricity in his particular region of the country.

What about all his welfare/entitlement goodies? Those all discriminate against anyone with a lick of sense (which automatically leaves out nearly all the donkeys in Congress) and who has the sense to earn their own feelings.

What he really means when he says what he did is that he objects to anyone proposing anything that could be remotely connected to having a moral standard.

'Course, if I had beaten a murder rap, maybe I would, too.
