Please consider these two plans and tell me how they differ and who you think wrote them:
Plan A:
Immediately redeploy U.S. troops consistent with the safety of U.S. forces.
To create a quick reaction force in the region.
To create an over- the- horizon presence of Marines.

Plan B:
Withdraw U.S. forces from vulnerable positions — cities, patrolling, etc. — and move U.S. forces to a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) status, operating from within Iraq and Kuwait, to be available when Iraqi security forces need assistance.

Whether or not you agree with Murtha, and I’m not sure I do, the man has a valid opinion.

I think the army can tolerate a differing opinion now and then. They’re tough guys; they’ve proven that. There may be some among them that appreciate Murtha’s frankness. Unfortunately the conservative blogosphere is not nearly as stalwart, as they seem to wet their pants everytime Murtha opens his mouth . . . .
