March of The Moonbats: San Francisco
While we experienced our own moonbat madness here in San Francisco, where leather, love and leftwing lawlessness converged, Michelle Malkin braved the mob in Washington, D.C. and this is what she writes:
“I spent the afternoon at Sheehanapalooza in D.C. under overcast skies, in a haze of hemp-scented paranoia, steeped with fetid Bush hatred.”
Same here. The description applies entirely.
Malkin has photos. PoliticalTeen has video of the Sheehan speech. MPJ highlights photos of the conspiracy nuts.
On our side of the nation, the Chronicle has photos of the mob. But nothing’s better than Indymedia SF.
The S.F. Chronicle reports:
“Both protest organizers and police estimated 20,000 people marched in San Francisco today, making it one of the largest anti-war protests since the U.S. invaded Iraq two years ago. Protesters gathered in San Francisco’s Dolores Park this morning, then marched for two hours to Jefferson Square Park, where the park was jammed with a standing room only crowd of bodies.
As they marched, people carried signs expressing outrage at everything from the war in Iraq to President Bush to the treatment of Palestinians. One man, dressed as Uncle Sam, carried an American flag with a peace sign.”
Yes, there was plenty of “outrage” to go around.
We saw visceral hate for President Bush and the U.S. effort in Iraq, as well as expressions of anger against Gov. Schwarzenegger and his political/economic reform initiatives. Union members. Latino activists. Even Assemblyman Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) was in attendance to motivate the crowd.
It was a liberal grab bag of grievances, and an opportunity to piggyback on each other.
(Obviously, they did not read the DailyKos’ Do’s and Dont’s of protesting)
Last week, we briefly explored the political strategy behind the “blame game” following Hurricane Katrina. Democrats recognize that perception becomes reality if a soundbite is repeated enough on the local 6 o’clock news. It appears to be working.
“A 52-year-old lawyer said she joined the protest because of her outrage at the federal government’s sluggish response to Hurricane Katrina. Faith Brewer said she thought the problem was exacerbated because too many resources were diverted to Iraq.
“Too many people died in New Orleans, because of the war in Iraq,’’ she said.
Why does she think this? Because Pelosi and others said so.
In addition, you also find the generally-confused, bleeding-hearts.
“I write letters,’’ said Isabelle Corkins, 47, of Alameda, who with her husband and 4-year-old daughter. “This is the only thing left that gives me a sense of doing something.â€Â
Lady, how about thanking God that you don’t live in a radical Islamic nation where your daughter would be forced to wear a burqa, be denied an education, and have no rights. No liberty. No freedom.
From fighting for our nation’s independence to our present security, America enjoys freedom because of our military — not the rabble noise of protesters.
If only these same “peaceful” people would’ve gone to Iraq and tried these marches during Saddam’s reign, calling for him to end the oppression, torture and execution of his own people.
The would’ve learned how quickly they can be silenced.
