Liberals Interpret the Scriptures; The Gospel According to Marx
A perfect post for the Sabbath.
Is it only me or are there others who are sick and tired of Liberals quoting the Bible — or claiming to quote the Scriptures?
It’s as serious as Sen. Hillary Clinton using Scripture to defend illegal immigration and to slam the GOP immigration reform bill, or as silly as when environmentalists pose the question to Americans “would Jesus Christ drive an SUV?”
It’s an interesting political strategy. Especially with the Democrat Party’s left-wing attempting to make inroads within the so-called Red States, especially in the Bible Belt. After all, they believe conservative Christians are as dumb as dirt and only need to be tricked into believing the Dems are Bible-toting moralists who believe in running the country the way Jesus would run it. While liberals accuse conservatives of using religion to further their agenda, it is the liberals who selectively insert religion when it suits their purposes.
Recall Howard Dean during his run for the Democrat Party nomination for the presidency: The media darling’s Dean Machine actually told Americans they were going to get religious when Dean campaigned in the southern states. In other words, Howard Dean told southerners he was coming to shuck and jive them into believing he was in touch with Jesus. It was his infamous “God, guns and gays” moment in history.
Sen. Clinton’s recent use of the Scriptures had the minions of the news media — a relatively godless bunch — hopeful that she was getting over on the American people. Here was the liberal-left Joan of Arc attacking her opposition using their own weapon. However, conservative Christians aren’t as dumb as these heathens believe. Say what you will about Bible-believing Christians, they know sin when they see it. And they know a flim-flam man — or woman — when they hear one.
When I heard Hillary talking Scripture — or attempting to talk Scripture — during her anti-anti-illegal immigration tirade, my first reaction was: Where in the Bible does Jesus talk about illegal aliens? Perhaps it’s in the section of the Bible that has Jesus teaching his apostles about women’s reproductive rights. The Bible does speak of the sin of shedding of innocent blood. And who are more innocent than unborn babies? But don’t go there when discussing Biblical principles with a liberal. To them, as with the US Constitution, the Bible is a “living, breathing document” open to extraordinary interpretation and even total legal invention.
The Bible does speak of government briefly in Romans chapter 13. But it stipulates a government — and an ideology — diametrically opposed to Clintonism. Hillary Clinton is a socialist in moderate’s clothing. A power hungry politician who’s thirst for the presidency is exceeded only by her ignorance of the Bible. Like her husband, who was seen during MonicaGate leaving a church with a big ol’ King James Bible under his arm, Hillary views the Bible as just another political prop.
But the liberal-left are not totally to blame for their bizarre view of Bible verses. How can they know what the Bible teaches when they rely on clergy such as Rev. Jesse Jackson (”Jesus was a homeless person.”), Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Joseph Lowery. These are the spiritually- dysfunctional shepherds of the Democrat Party flock. They are the epitome of the blind leading the blind. When President Bill Clinton was caught literally with his pants down, his choice for spiritual counselor was a cleric who used his organization’s donations to payoff a woman who had his child out of wedlock.
Liberals love to interpret the Bible and they interpret its verses the same way they interpret the US Constitution. In both, they see an inherent right of foreigners to violate immigration law. It’s right next to the where it says women have a right to murder their unborn children. And right next to where it says “Bush lied.”

On Wednesday, March 1st, 2006, in Annapolis at a hearing on the proposed Constitutional Amendment to prohibit gay marriage, Jamie Raskin, professor of law at American University, was requested to testify.
At the end of his testimony, Republican Senator Nancy Jacobs said: “Mr. Raskin, my Bible says marriage is only between a man and a woman. What do you have to say about that?”
Raskin replied: “Senator, when you took your oath of office, you placed your hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. You did not place your hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible.”
The room erupted into applause.

Oh, sorry, I didn’t realize the “right” to gay marriage was written in the constitution. My bad.

“Stop Bush!” must be reading a different translation that does include Adam and Steve.

What is the point of this? How is upholding the Bible in conflict with upholding the Constitution?

I wonder if they will start advocating things like euthanasia, virginity, and transgenderism next.

Transgenderism? Just look to the schools. That’s how the brainwashing begins.

It is useless to try to convince people like stop bush! that there really are certitudes in the Bible. Those ideas, that there are absolutes, that there are responsibilities, that there are consequenses, are so anathema to intolerant interpreters like Hillaryous that they feel comfortable in picking and choosing what they will misinterpret and dismissing the rest as myth.
No wonder, either, being led by scholars such as Sharpton and Jackson, who so obviously live what they preach.
I am offended by Hillaryous’ (mis)use of the Bible. Can I sue her for harassment, or violation of my right to worship freely, without interference from the senator?

Thought you all might be interested in this little tidbit.
Shahzad Qureshi, a chauffeur for Bill Clinton has been found to be a wanted man.
Qureshi, was in one of three cars awaiting Clinton at Newark Airport last week when a Port Authority policeman happened to check license plate numbers.
The computer came back showing that Qureshi, a Pakistani national, had skipped a residency-status hearing in 2000, and a deportation order had been issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the New York Post reported.
