S.F. Chronicle reports: “In a rare personal rebuke of a colleague, Sen. Edward Kennedy lambasted Sen. Rick Santorum from the Senate floor Wednesday, demanding an apology for the Pennsylvania Republican’s comments connecting Boston’s liberalism to the Catholic Church child sex abuse scandal.”

(1) A “rare personal rebuke” of a Republican? From Ted Kennedy? Are you kidding?
(2) Are Democrats digging for dirt, surfing the web for old stories?

“Santorum wrote in the July 2002 column for Catholic Online that promoting alternative lifestyles feeds such aberrant behavior as priests molesting children.

“Priests, like all of us, are affected by culture,” Santorum wrote. “When the culture is sick, every element in it becomes infected. While it is no excuse for this scandal, it is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm.”

Kennedy said Santorum “owes an immediate apology to the tragic, long- suffering victims of sexual abuse and their families in Boston, in Massachusetts, in Pennsylvania and around this country.”

Skeptical that Kennedy’s motivation is altruistic (i.e. concern for the victims), it might be interesting to find out their opinions of Santorum’s remarks. Who knows, they might agree.

Michael Rogers cries “My oh my” as the gay blog PageOneQ “outs” Robert Traynham, Director of Communications for U.S. Senator Rick Santorum. Incidentally, Traynham is black.

When asked how a gay man could speak for one of the nation’s most notorious homophobes, Traynham protested that has “been with the Senator for eight years.” Traynham went on to say “Senator Santorum is a man of principle, he is a man who sticks up for what he believes in, I strongly do support Senator Santorum.”

Obviously, not the answer they were looking for. So, what do homosexual activists do? They attack.

A number of years ago, openly gay columnist and writer Dan Savage began a campaign to educate citizens as to the meaning of the noun “santorum.” PageOneQ visitors are able to see the site which developed from that effort, SpreadingSantorum.com (Please note: the site is for adults angry homosexuals only and contains sexually explicit writing.)

Ironically, for most sensible audiences, this vulgar site only serves to validate Santorum’s expressed concerns.
