Liberal Debate: Beware Of Flying Objects

In February, during a televised debate in Portland, OR between DNC chairman Howard Dean and former Pentagon adviser Richarld Perle, a protester tossed a shoe at Perle’s head.

The AP reports (including video footage): Both speakers “made clear their opposing views on the war in Iraq during a debate marred by a protester who tossed a shoe at Perle.”

Perle had just started his comments Thursday when a protester threw a shoe at him before being dragged away, screaming, ‘Liar! Liar!’”

As it relates, we also know that Pat Buchanan, David Horowitz, and Ann Coulter, all conservatives, have gotten the same liberal treatment recently. Michelle Malkin provides an update on the assaults.

What is about “freedom of speech” that leads liberals to believe it only applies to them?

what leads conservatives to react to the throwing of harmless objects as if they were assassination attempts?

    Let’s see…they’ve gone from salad dressing…to pies…to shoes now.

Watch for a big “I TOLD YOU SO” when the bullets start flying.

  3. steve Says:

that is a gigantic leap of logic. even bigger than the “economy is strong, and getting stronger.”

  4. MJones Says:

With all of the radical leftist ‘protestards’ out there calling for ‘revolution’ and ‘regime change at home’, it’s not that great a leap of logic to forsee someone taking it to the extreme of an assassination attempt.

All it’ll take is one ‘Unabomber’-type student, spouting ‘revolution’ rehtoric and taking a shot at a conservative or Republican on a college campus for you to see a real ‘revolution’…except it will be a crackdown akin to martial law on campuses…and your rhetoric and ‘revolutionary’ ideals that will be the casualties.

These idiots are only bringing about their own eventual destruction.

are you serious or did you accidentally put the ending to one response onto this one?

sorry, i forgot, world war II started when the japanese threw california rolls at us…

  6. California Conservative Says:

I like California rolls. Sashimi, too.

  7. MJones Says:

I’m partial to Philly rolls and a local one called the Corpus Christi roll.

Devil rolls are amazing, too. :D

I have the obvious solution to this problem. It’s apparent that this brain dead hippie only needs one shoe, so why not “streamline” him and lop that odd foot off?

I mean, I’m flexible. If we can’t get rid of liberals altogether, I’ll settle for a piece at a time.

  9. MJones Says:

    steve,

What the HELL does the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor have to do with assassination attempts or idiot protesters?

From your comments, I’d suggest you go back and take some of those logic classes at NYU. While you’re there, make sure to take a class that addresses remedial grammar and capitaization. You need it.

  10. steve Says:

dang it, were i went wrong with grammar? i must’ve missed that. and i don’t believe in capital letters, but then again i’m not sure what you meant by “capitaization.”

    :)

    ass haha.

  12. steve Says:

MJ lets go over your logic, shall we? college students engage in simple, stupid and harmless protest. said college students begin slippery slope. conservative lives endangered. yes?

why don’t conservatives understand that the right to free speech means someone else can protest what you have to say? these students are only protesting a viewpoint with which they happen to disagree, albeit in a stupid and immature manner.

  13. California Conservative Says:

I note that said college student initiated this thread by asking, “what leads conservatives to react to the throwing of harmless objects as if they were assassination attempts?” This apparently being an effort to obfuscate the facts that liberals have recently been engaging in physical attacks.

Throwing an object at someone, whether it’s a pie or a steel pipe, is still an assault. How would a professor react to a student throwing his/her shoe? Or any other object? And how would the school respond? This behavior cannot be tolerated. Student would be disciplined. And your arguments would fall short.

It is no stretch but rather simple logic to conclude that those who resort to physical violence because they disagree with someone are more likely to increase the level of attack as they become more disgruntled over their own insignificance. Their intolerance breeds hate.

Peaceful protest and “the right to free speech” are always welcome in America. But physical attack, in any form, is not speech.
