Kevin Barrett: Liberal, Professor, Moonbat
Controversial theories? Like, um, white supremacy?
We can all agree that wouldn’t find a home in any classroom, and neither should the radical conspiracy theories of an unhinged, liberal academic with an axe to grind against America and the Bush administration. (Watch the video)
Barrett has come under fire in recent weeks for teaching that the Sept. 11 attacks were an inside job and for advocating the theory outside the classroom. Gov. Jim Doyle, U.S. Rep. Mark Green (R-Wis.) and several state legislators have called for his dismissal.
But after conducting a 10-day review of Barrett’s past teaching and his plans for a fall class on Islam, Provost Patrick Farrell determined that Barrett was fit to teach and that the alternative theory on 9-11 had a place in the classroom when taught along with other viewpoints.
Taxpayer dollars hard at work to provide public “education.”
Barrett said he was “very pleased” by the decision. He said students in his fall course, “Islam: Religion and Culture,” would spend one week studying a variety of viewpoints on the 9-11 attacks, including the theory that “9-11 was probably an American operation to launch a war on Islam countries.”
Some people also contend that the Holocaust never happened and that the world is run by a Zionist conspiracy. It appears that the University of Wisconsin-Madison is the place to teach. You know, just some more radical ideas for critical thinking.
He said he would not tell his students that he subscribed to that theory nor would he penalize them for disagreeing with it.
Of course. Not.
His alleged purpose is to promote “critical thinking” and, naturally, his views — designing the course — must be the “enlightened” analysis. Thus, if some students don’t come to the same conclusion — or, going further, challenge him in the classroom — he’ll be sure to reward them. They might even get extra credit for telling him that they watch FOXNews.
Kevin, meet Deb.
Michelle Malkin has more.

It really makes me wonder why the rest of the world seems to consider American colleges and universities so superior. To me, I see little difference between some of the moonbat stuff being taught here and the teachings in Saudi universities that the Jews are the “sons of pigs and monkeys” (as per the “holy” Quran).

“…American colleges and universities so superior.”? Since when?
For at least the last two decades I have considered them little more than extensions of the garbage they call high schools. No wonder we turn out so many lawyers and teachers: Them what can, do; them what can’t, teach. They also practice law.
Wonder what the teachers would do if their pay was based on the actual tested performance of their students in traditional areas like readin’, writin’ & ‘rithmatic? ‘Specially since an amazingly high per centage of the teachers couldn’t pass the tests, either.
