If conservatives do not want to be associated with outright bigotry, I suggest that CPAC refrain from providing a forum to those who use bigotry for laughs. While I understand that adult debate is more difficult than the childish mores of Coulter and her fans, I suspect that many conservatives are prepared for it.

I like Coulter. I think she is a brilliant woman with a very deep understanding of our nation and our nation’s politics. However, this comment detracts from her intelligence and hurts Republicans. Instead of being able to win on the issues, it allows Democrats to skate by perpetuating a stereotype that Republicans are racists and biggots. That is not true. As Coulter put it, “my party freed the slaves”.
