“Hawkish” Democrat: Now, That’s A Headline
Something this newsworthy — a story that broke this morning — obviously still has to be a Yahoo! headline a 11:50PM PST.

GatewayPundit: Truth or Politics?
A walk down memory lane…
Bryan Preston writes: (and it’s worth quoting in its entirety)
Democrat Rep. John Murtha said today that we can’t win the war in Iraq. That would be news if he hadn’t said the exact same thing a year ago. So today’s speech wasn’t as much a change of heart as a change of venue.
But it was enough to make Rod Dreher leave a big puddle on the floor. Seriously, one more panic like that and Bill Buckley may have to lend Dreher one of his testicles.
Sorry for being so blunt. I’m tired of the GOP panic on the war. And I’m way past tired of the Democrat lies about this war. I’m tired of the likes of Andrew Sullivan, whose overwrought, emotional blog writing now meets the McCain definition of torture, and I’m tired of the likes of the Clintons. And frankly I’m past treating the left with anything resembling due respect. The present situation can come to no good. We have the formerly security savvy party running for the door at light speed. We have the moonbat party aiding and abetting the enemy.
And we have a pernicious, ambitious enemy fighting against our troops in the field and plotting to kill us right here.
Have a nice day.
Right on, Bryan! You said it. Wake up, people.
Stand strong. Stay focused. Be Proud. Be American.

John Murtha is an American. The man spent 37 years in the Marine Corps and is a decorated officer and veteran of Viet Nam. To accuse him of “aiding and abetting the enemy” is absolutely pathetic and cowardly.
I don’t know who Bryan Preston is, or thinks he is, but he sure sounds like nothing more than a tough-talking little punk, doesn’t he? I’d like to know what his service to America has been.

Mr. Preston said nothing that denied or diminished Rep. Murtha’s status as an American or his military service to our nation.
He merely states that Murtha “said today that we can’t win the war in Iraq.” Which he did — in a press conference. Murtha made the headline, we didn’t.
Speaking of “tough-talking,” we don’t know many Marines (of Murtha’s veteran class or not) who would concede defeat in anything. That’s not the way of the corps. Perhaps Washington softens one’s sensibilities.
Finally, if you read correctly, Mr. Preston does not “accuse” Murtha of “aiding & abetting the enemy” — instead, he indicts the “moonbat party” (the entire DNC). Not singling anyone out. For based on their collective revisionism of history and active hostility to the President’s efforts, Democrats have reached a new low while putting partisanship above the well-being of the American people.
