AP reports: “Harvard University will spend $50 million over the next decade to support initiatives on women scientists and faculty that were recommended Monday by two task forces formed in the wake President Lawrence Summers’ comments on female aptitude in science and math.”

Would’ve been cheaper for Harvard had the women’s “rights” groups successfully forced Summers’ resignation. Instead, it appears they won big on extortion.

“The recommendations include a senior administrative post overseeing diversity and faculty development — which Summers had previously committed to — as well as better mentoring for faculty and freshmen interested in science, enhanced faculty benefits in areas such as child care, and safe transportation for researchers working in labs late at night.

How does one “oversee diversity?” You’d think it just happens as a natural occurrence. Or maybe we’re thinking about diversity of ideas, and diversity of talents, tastes and preferences. And, yes, diversity of intelligence.

Instead, Harvard must be planning to increase spending on social engineering, the process by which demographics are created artificially. In the case of college education, “diversity” merely represents the quotas enforced by admissions, and required by special interests. And what, pray tell, is “faculty development?” Ah yes, the engineers.

As for “mentoring” and “safe transportation,” great ideas. You’d think they’d fall under the school’s general fund for everyone. As for “child care,” doesn’t that take place at home?

The recommendations also call for a “faculty development and diversity fund” to partially support appointees who “contribute to diversity,” and for mandatory instruction of science graduate students on gender bias before they are allowed to teach.

Translation: Indoctrination administered by the social engineers to establish group-think. Under the guise of “diversity training,” these engineers work to create a conformity of opinions based solely upon political agenda, and not allowing for any questions, thoughts or conclusions to exist outside of their “box.” There’s no place for individual judgement or personal experiences.

Ironic that Harvard’s logo states, “Veritas,” which in Latin means truth. Presumably, that is education’s role: to seek truth. No longer.

At what point did the meaning of the word “diversity” come to mean: everything except non-white-males?
