Christopher Hitchens: George Galloway Is Gruesome, Not Gorgeous
Now, watch me debate him.
Christopher Hitchens offers a prelude of what’s to come, and it’s gonna be a brawl. Rhetorically speaking, we hope.
But with George Galloway, y’never know. If anyone can take him to task, it’ll be Hitchens.
“Galloway’s preferred style is that of vulgar ad hominem insult, usually uttered while a rather gaunt crew of minders stands around him. I have a thick skin and a broad back and no bodyguards. He says that I am an ex-Trotskyist (true), a “popinjay” (true enough, since its original Webster’s definition means a target for arrows and shots), and that I cannot hold a drink (here I must protest).”
. . .“I shall be debating him in public in New York on Wednesday Sept. 14, this time on a fair field with no favor. The event will be widely accessible via television and radio, and I do urge you all to tune in and watch the fun.”
For those of our readers in NYC, this event should not be missed.

Thanks for the link! Is it that obvious I can’t stand Galloway? ;)

I was there. So was a crew fron C-SPAN, who told me it will show on C-SPAN 2 several times this weekend. Do not miss it. It was Hitch in the lions den, and it was great entertainment. My obscure little blog gives a little taste of what it was like to be in the audience.
