Why do Democrats do this to themselves?

The US Congress and Senate were busy debating a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq last week. The clear consensus is: “stay the course”.

June 15: the US Senate shot down a Democratic proposal (Kerry) to withdraw US troops from Iraq by the end of 2006 by a 93-6 margin.

June 16: the U.S. House of Representatives voted 256-153 in favor of a resolution promising to "complete the mission" in Iraq, prevail in the global fight against terrorism, rejecting an “arbitrary date for withdrawal" of American troops.

June 22 : another Democrat resolution (Kerry/Feingold) for withdrawal of the troops by July 1, 2007, was firmly rejected 86-13.

Even after these major defeats, Senator Carl Levin D-Michigan, who voted in favor of the pullout, said “We represent the majority.”

DUH!

Senators, you should be pouting.  Re-do your poster board.  Include this next time:

The Republican Plan for Iraq has been available to the public since November 30, 2005.  It’s comprehensive and exactly what we’re doing.  On the Democratic side, apart from failed "Let’s get out of Iraq in 6 months… okay, a year…." proposals, they have no plan to offer but  CRICKETS……CRICKETS….
