"The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Democrats: Victims of Success

Democrats are victims of their own success.

They have adopted a far-left platform pleasing to the MoveOn.org crowd that is endorsed by both frontrunners, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

They have successfully purged ideological dissent within the party and now goosestep in unison with the single-minded purpose of a hive mentality.

They have even discarded the term “liberal” in favor of “progressive.” This is unintentionally honest as the Democrat Party of today has little resemblance to the values of traditional Western liberalism.

They have been so successful that the typical Democrat voter can see little difference in the policies and positions advocated by Clinton and Obama.

So, their party faithful must look to other factors.

Here, Democrats run into their other success story — identity politics.

If you’re a feminist who believes in government-funded abortion-on-demand, you’re a Democrat.

If you’re an African-American who believes you should receive preferential treatment because your great-grandfather was a slave, you’re a Democrat.

If you’re a Hispanic and see no reason to assimilate culturally, learn English or follow the nations’ immigration laws, you’re a Democrat.

If you’re gay and believe that organized religion’s rejection of homosexuality is hate speech, you’re a Democrat.

You get the picture; if you claim victimhood, you’re a Democrat.

This strategy worked so long as the enemy was the straight, white male personified by the Republican Party. But now, there is a problem. To quote racial separatist Malcolm X (whom progressives call a civil rights leader) following the murder of President John Kennedy, “The chickens come home to roost.”

On the one hand, there is a black candidate; on the other, a woman. Since there is little difference in their positions, party choice is being made based on race and gender. All one has to do is look at the voting patters of women and blacks within the Democrat Party to see the truth of this fact.

The candidates’ supporters are getting nasty, quick to take offense at the slightest misstep and equally quick with charges of racism and sexism.

The Democrat Party will emerge from this civil war bruised and bloody from self-inflicted wounds. Perhaps it will stay unified — the party’s enforcers may well see to that although they will no longer have Bush hatred as a unifying force.

Another problem facing the Democrats is that the doctrine of identity politics inevitably leaves out many people. In fact, it demonizes some. How can there be victims without villains? The straight, white male has become to progressive Democrats what the Jew was to Nazis.

What will happen when these excluded groups, which do not see themselves as oppressors and resent the accusation, find their own identity?

The Democrats’ success at ideological purity and identity politics may well drive large numbers of voters into the welcoming hands of the GOP.

As Malcolm X said, “The chickens come home to roost.”

  2. THats all well and good Kip, except for the fact that you left out the largest victimized group, that is the majority of dumbed down average white Americans who cant even see that a $1,200 per month mortgage payment only leaves $800 to buy groceries, feed the SUV and pay off the over $10,000 credit card debt, because “ya gotta have your big TV to watch da games”, and probably think the government needs tuh do sumthin’ tuh help peepul out.

Care to guess who they vote for?

I dont buy this crap that Americans are smarter than the media and elites give them credit for. They are not. You want proof, come to California.

  4. “Move on”… hmm… interesting slogan. For those that don’t know, this is a communist slogan used in all communist countries from east-Europe to identify their race against the capitalist countries. In other words, even if you are starving (and we were starving!), you have to move on. The Russian army followed the same order from Stalin (“move on with any price”) when they started the counter-attack against the German army. Millions of Russian solders died by the German’s bullets, but they moved on. They passed over my country and other countries from eastern-Europe up the Germany, and they killed, raped, stole everything they could, and then moved on. What is this telling you? It doesn’t matter the cost in lifes, money, resources, etc., the communists have to pay, they will do everything they can do defeat the capitalism and slave the whole world. And this war has been moved now from Europe, which is already defeated (European Union is the new Social Union), on US soil.

    >

This is exactly what the communists did in my country in 1944, and did all over the place. They posed themselves in “progressists”, so automatically those that didn’t agree with them opposed the progress, the “change”. And the communists said simply: “we don’t have time to argue with our opponents, we just kill them”. And they did. Big time. Starting from this slogan, we created another one saying: “We work, we don’t think.”. I know many managers here that apply the same slogan to their people. :))

This is exactly what is happening today in US. The communists/socialists/liberals/democrats (they are the same) stole these words with a lot of meaning (same they did with “pro-choice” – which has a good meaning) and used them for their own agenda. The only way to answer to these people is using concrete examples from former communist countries where the same ideas that democrats are preaching today have been applied and failed.

If you guys really want to fight these liberals/socialists/communists/democrats, you have to learn more about communism!

In 1989 when we dropped the communism in my country and we killed the communist dictator, everybody thought the communism is over and the very next day we will leave a beautiful life, we’ll have a free market, etc. It was not like that. The same people that were in power under the communist regime took the power again though a “democratic election” running against people that they persecuted and the communists won. Imagine that these communists came on TV and told to people they persecuted in jail or forced them to leave the country that they didn’t eat salami with soy (the communist regime told us the soy is healthier than meat, same like many organizations are telling us today to eat weeds and leafs instead of meat because… you know the story. The reality was to eat meat in communism was a privilege.) like they – the communists – did. Yes, to eat salami with soy in a communist jail was a privilege. These neo-communists came after 1989 and told us, when we started raising our voices against them and their past, that the communist ideology is/was good, but it was just not applied in the proper way. What the current socialists are doing is just to make sure the communist ideology is going to be applied in the proper way to the masses. How? If they did it before with force and they failed, now they are doing it using “sweet words”. Don’t get cut in this trap. WAKE UP, UNTIL IT’S NOT TOO LATE!

    P.S. Again I posted a long comment. :))
