Have you heard the latest cries of racism?

Believe it or not, this time they’re not against a Republican. Instead, the insensitive perpetrator is MSNBCs reporter Keith Olbermann, who, as Newsmax reports, “slurs Latinos with ‘guacamole’.” Indeed, that’s some pretty strong language.

What can we say? Sticks and stones, but political correctness above all. How ridiculous.

There’s no need to even address the story, other than to say: It’s another example of the growing weakness in our culture, in both mind and body. Everyone is offended by everything, except if your white and conservative — as the only unprotected class, you can’t claim victimhood. It’s a brilliant setup.

Political correctness does absolutely nothing to change people’s minds, but only censors communication. It drives away candor and honesty, leaving only sanitized, superficial blather. What do people really think? Who knows.

If we really wanted to deal with race relations and “diversity,” Americans should be able to speak freely and let the strength of multiculturalism become self-evident. Or not. Anything else is contrived. By spoon-feeding the notion of tolerance and jumping to “apologize” every time someone gets indignant, we’re only creating a veneer of civility. One day, it’ll crack.

In related MSNBC news…

AP reports: “A distasteful comment about Chelsea Clinton by an MSNBC anchor could imperil Hillary Rodham Clinton’s participation in future presidential debates on the network, a Clinton spokesman said.”

Is that a threat, or a promise?

In a conference call with reporters, Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson on Friday excoriated MSNBC’s David Shuster for suggesting the Clinton campaign had “pimped out” 27-year old Chelsea by having her place phone calls to celebrities and Democratic Party “superdelegates” on her mother’s behalf.

Wolfson called Shuster’s comment “beneath contempt” and disgusting.

Good thing she’s not a Clinton intern, as that might give the reference a whole new meaning.

OK, let’s get this straight: Outraged and offended because someone used the expression “pimped out”? Perhaps Mr. Wolfson isn’t “down” with the modern lexicon, which has been so terrifically enriched by the hip-hop culture, yo. (See Obama supporter)

In some circles, to be “pimpin” is nothing more than a term of endearment. Or perhaps the automotive industry should file a class-action lawsuit against MTV for the popular show, Pimp My Ride. Disgusting, indeed. Everyone’s a victim.

And what about the grand pimp masters, Jesse Jackson and Big Al Sharpton? If only Chelsea were black, they could make it a race issue. Otherwise, if there ain’t no check to collect, they’re not getting out of bed.

MSNBC said Shuster, who apologized on the air for his comment, has been temporarily suspended from appearing on all NBC news broadcasts except to offer his apology.

“NBC News takes these matters seriously, and offers our sincere regrets to the Clintons for the remarks,” MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines said, adding the network was hopeful the debate would take place as planned.

Maybe MSNBC will go easy on Hillary now. No tough questions. No more “hardball.” (That’s a joke, people)

As for Mr. Shuster, we almost feel sorry for him. Perhaps he should’ve stuck to the Queen’s English and politely observed: “The Clintons are leveraging their daughter in the employment of promoting Hillary’s campaign.”

Different words. Same meaning. Fo’ shizzle.

“Chelsea Clinton tells students about her mother’s plans for the economy and mortgages. The former first daughter outlines Hillary Rodham Clinton’s concern about Darfur and women’s rights. She ticks through talking points on electability, health care and the environment.

Oh, and she reveals her mother wants grandkids and her father builds their schedule around a popular TV drama, “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Chelsea Clinton has emerged as a top surrogate for her mother as the former first lady has fallen behind Sen. Barack Obama in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Top “surrogate.” Good thing no one said something else.

1. The paraphrase weakness of mind and the name Keith Olbermann in the same post seems more than appropriate. I remember him when he tried to do the sports in LA years ago and unlike fine wines or even jug wines he has not aged gracefully.

2. This reaction is typical in the current postmodern era, where the “absolute truth” preached by the socialists is the feeling of somebody and not the reason or common sense (which, apparently, is not common anymore).

   I came in US in 2002 from an east-European country that was under an oppressive communist regime between 1944-1989, and, even if I was only 11 years old when we dropped the communism in 1989, I still remember how they tried to indoctrinate us during the school hours, tv shows (by the way, the national tv station – the only one in the country – broadcasted every day only 3 hours, between 7PM to 10PM, and most of the time was just about communism, communists and their activities), “popular” meetings (like those that took place in 1st May 2006 in LA to legalize the illegal emigrants), etc. We’ve been taught in school that if our parents say something bad about the communism or its leaders at home we have to report them because they are a threat to the national security, to the party, etc. It is hard to explain how a nation, family or person could leave under a constant threat and fear for 50 years trying to survive a criminal regime. In order to survive, very few of them retreated in the mountains where they faugh with the communist army: some of them died in battles, other have been cut and died in prison after they’ve been tortured. But most of the people tried to suppress their instincts or thoughts being afraid they will be cut off guard and throw in jail, where only few were lucky enough to come back alive.

   You might ask: ok, but where is your point? What this has to do with the current article?

   Well, with the experience that I’ve accumulated leaving into a communist and post-communist country for 25 years, I have to tell you that the socialists from US, represented by the Democrat Party, most of newspapers, tv & radio stations, are using the same strategy and tactics to shut up this nation: fear, indoctrination, lies, victimization, etc, exactly like the communists did in my country. Yes, I have to admit the Socialist-Americans (I don’t know if anybody else used this word before, but I just came up with it realizing that if we have African-American, Hispic-American, etc, I have to name the american socialists somehow in order to be “politically correct” ) are not so oppressive like their fathers were in East-Europe or their brothers are in China, Cuba or Venezuela, but their actions are producing the same results:
   - fear: of a law suit because your hurt somebody’s feelings, of loosing the job because you express your view about certain issues, etc;
   - indoctrination: like Global Warming;
   - lies: do I really have to give examples here?
   - victimization: this is the best tactic they use to keep the people under control. The leaders are telling people that their problems are caused by somebody else (we’ve been told in school by the communists, for example, that the problems in our country are caused by the Americans. Here see the clichés: poor vs rich, black vs white, women vs man, latino vs non-latino, etc), but they are there to protect them. The problem is all these leaders don’t do anything to improve the life of the people they (auto)represent. They actually want their people to be weaker so they would depend on them. The more people you have depending on you, the more power you have.

   The reaction to those comments follows exactly the same steps. Read between the lines…

   I wanted to post a short comment but I’m realizing it’s almost as an article long, so I will end it here. There are many other things that I would like to share with you, but maybe in another posting.

   P.S. I am sorry if my English is not perfect. I took some English classes right after I came in US because I didn’t speak English at all, but after 2 weeks of “intensive” English I realized that I am learning Spanish faster than English so I abandon the classes. The teacher had to translate the lessons in Spanish for some of my classmates that were born here but didn’t even know what “What is your name?” means. No further comments.
