One thing is for sure, he doesn’t deliver.

Instead of free-stylin’ like some sort of hip-hop superstar, maybe Nagin should consider running these things past his PR people. This doesn’t at all sound like someone who worked with any political consultants first. It sounds like he just decided to pull a Villaragosa, mug for the camera, and talk out of his @$$. Now that he is getting it kicked six ways from Saturday (he didn’t even make it to Sunday), he’s backpedaling like a mafa…and continues to look even more incompetent than the day we found out about all of those school busses he didn’t roll in the DAYS of warning that entire city and state had prior to Katrina.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; I will never understand why this man still has a job, and has managed to not end up in jail.

The thing is… Didn’t Mayor Nagin make the key move in endorsing Bobby Jindal for Governor?

That was a crucial endorsement, in what was a tight race. It wasn’t enough to push [now-Congressman] Jindal over the top.

A candidate for Mayor of San Francisco said it would be God’s will to turn SF into a vanilla city once again. When asked about it he mentioned that vanilla was made by mixing beans from africa, white milk and spices from asia so it really wasn’t so offensive. THe media did not buy it and he was forced to step down from running for mayor of SF.

Any politician of any race who relies on dark food/light food contrasts to make a point about race should be hounded out of office.

This stuff passes as cinematic art, too, especially with director John Singleton. In Boyz N The Hood, Lawrence Fishburne character orders his coffee “black” to show he’s more race-conscious than Angela Basset. In Rosewood, a boy says - with a big grin and sharp delivery - he wants chocolate cake.

Mayor Ray Nagin speech seems to be an invitation for the white power advocates to voice their opinions. With the extreme some of the reverse racism I’m viewing within the backlash of Nagin speech is reaching, I’m starting to feel like the public is overreacting to Nagins comments. I think we’re overlooking some of the statements in the responses to Nagins speech, its just outright unbelievable. I’m starting to find warmth in Nagins speech all of a sudden, its beginning to look like a brilliant stategy.
