Comforting The Enemy: Another View of The “Peace March” On Washington

Supporting the Enemy“I would like to say to Cindy Sheehan and her supporters don’t be a group of unthinking lemmings. It’s not pretty,” said Mitzy Kenny of Ridgeley, W.Va., whose husband died in Iraq last year. The anti-war demonstrations “can affect the war in a really negative way. It gives the enemy hope.”

Jeff Horwitz at Salon.com has an interesting read on this past weekend’s “peace” activist march in Washington, DC.

Like the Left itself, the march was a conglomeration of special interests, many who have agendas other than stopping the war in Iraq.

“To begin with, the joint organizers, International ANSWER and United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ), feud so regularly that they had to sign a pact promising not to attack each other until the event was over.

Then there was ANSWER’s rejection of message control — its leadership demanded that each of its component organizations be allowed to protest issues besides the war. Starting at 9 a.m., therefore, the Palestinian boosters took over Farragut Square with their own signs and chants, while bands of anarchists, affordable housing advocates, and Hugo Chavez supporters staked out intersections around D.C.’s downtown.”

So if you are against the war in Iraq and go out to protest with the likes of ANSWER, you might find yourself arm in arm with someone who thinks blowing up a bus full of civilians is a dandy idea.

The California High School Conservative features the photo above. This charming gentleman is cheering on the thugs who are beheading kidnapped foreigners and randomly blowing up citizens of Iraq trying to prevent them from forming a democratic government.

Does this guy think he would get a pass from Zarqawi for carrying this sign? Nope, his head would roll too.

Amidst all the hubbub you don’t hear one important thing: What would the activists do in the wake of a withdrawal as the murderous terrorists, which they are painting as a “resistance” movement, take retribution on those who dared to defy them?

Like any knee-jerk peacenick, they declare: 1. War is bad, 2. Hate George Bush, and 3. End the War now. But ask them to explain just how to solve the problem and watch them self-destruct.

Cindy Sheehan and the anti-war protest movement is not worth making a great deal about butfor the lavish attention and exposure it gets fron the MSM. Any single SAturday college football game arouses more enthusiasm and far greater crowds. As is always the case a tiny but vocal minority of wacko leftists gets a great deal of attention and serious coverage from the largely left-leaning MSM while the voices of Patriotic Americans are left out(the silent majority).

What would they do? Some would cheer the slaughter, others would change the subject. Because most “progressives” do not give a rat’s ass for actual human beings.
