California Dreamin’: Illegal Immigrants Demand Tuition Break

Students and supporters of immigrant rights yell during a rally in front of the New Jersey Statehouse in Trenton yesterday in support of proposed state and federal legislation that would allow some immigrant children without legal U.S. residency to attend state colleges and universities at in-state tuition rates. It’s called the DREAM Act, and for taxpayers it shoud be called a nightmare. Our public schools already have enough problems. We don’t need to add to them.
John Hawkins is rightfully dismayed:
“We’ve now gotten to the point where non-Americans, who are in the country illegally, are out in public, demanding, in Spanish, that they be given things. Meanwhile, we have plenty of politicians in Washington and across the country, from both parties, who believe we should cater to these people instead of deporting them in accordance with the law.”
GatewayPundit has much more.

Honestly, it never ends. Here in the Big City Welfare Department where I work, we have the usual bleeding hearts who tell us that the Dream Act is wonderful because “these kids have been here for years” and “they have gone through high school here”. So? All the Dream Act guarantees is that an illegal alien high school student will become an illegal alien college student who will become an illegal alien college grad. Still can’t work here legally. So, really, what is the point? It would seem that the idea is to just “ignore” the illegal thingey and pretend that if we ignore it long enough, it will just go away!

Their sense of entitlement never ceases to amaze me. But, we’ve allowed people to get away with it and now the mess is ours to clean up. Ours as in we American citizens. The ones who vote and pay taxes…oh, and pay for illegals medical bills and schooling.

What can be done to stop this constant growing problem? I pay my taxes, make an honest living working hard for everything. Sometimes I barely get by on what I make too. Yet, there are non tax paying, non American citizens who gain government benefits??? That is just backwards!
What can be done to make a change for the better?
