Blame Bush Kathleen Blanco
Remember Kathleen Blanco? Yeah, she’s the woman we all fell in love with during the Katrina aftermath.
It’s been months since the original fingerpointing subsided, but earlier this week the press re-opened the case by reporting on videotapes which prove that “Bush knew about Katrina in advance.”
(Disclaimer: So did we. The Weather Channel leaked it to us)
In any case, we now learn that Governor Blanco also knew about the impending disaster. However, being the voice of calm and steadfast leadership, she advised Washington: “I think we have not breached the levee at this time.”
Just the facts:
– At 9:12 a.m. on August 29, 2005, the National Weather Service had received reports of a levee breach in New Orleans and issued a flash-flood warning.
– Shortly after noon that same day, Governor Kathleen Blanco assured Bush administration officials that no levees had breached.
Meanwhile, Mayor Ray Nagin thought it was Mardi Gras and he doesn’t drive a bus, either.
Perhaps it’s time for Gov. Blanco to admit some responsibility.
