That’s fair.

Unfortunately, given the MSM and their liberal sympathizers, the reaction would be, well, like it has been about Air America: ignored. (Can you imagine if the same allegations were against a conservative organization? Think front page. Daily)

In your example of Al Franken, they would dismiss his remarks (like they do with Farakkhan, Belafonte, Sharpton, Nagin, et al) casually, saying something like “yeah, well, Franken is an entertainer. It’s his job to be provocative.”

Accountability is held to different standards.

I’m just thinking about the reaction that would happen if someone like, say, Al Franken said ‘President Bush should be poisoined, but that’s just a joke to you in the media’. Someone like Coulter, who has the ear of the media, should use it to advance a cause and not make flippant unprofessional remarks about a man still living.

Maureen Dowd may be a joke, but she’s definitely not funny.
