It was when the teachers (NEA) and the lawyers (legislators & ACLU) convinced the masses that it was not the schools' job to teach anything that counts that the people gave up the right to control education. Basically, parents abdicated their right to have their children taught anything except what the NEA wants taught.

Reading, writing and arithmetic are elementary, but getting them taught to youngsters is like getting teeth pulled. Grades can't be handed out for fear of injuring the little ones' psyches.

More important, though, is that the norms of our society have been denigrated to nothingness by the educrats. Children are not only not held to academic standards, God help the teacher who would dare to hold a student to a disciplinary standard! Don't even think about teaching that our society has ever benefitted humanity in any way, shape or form, or that Christopher Columbus was in fact a hero.

The public had better wise up to what's being said about them in the classroom.

I wouldn't under estimate the power of teachers. They have a lot of power.

I would say indoctination is not solely the preserve of democrate supports though.

It is a power rush. They see all these minds that they can presuade to their thinking. It is a big problem but I am not sure if it is solvable.

Eh. It's not all teachers. In fact, students are much less likely to believe a teacher than he is likely to believe his roll models in pop culture. The Jay Bennishes aren't indoctrinating students, the Green Days are.
